Chris, this is coming along great and I am glad you have added all the pics as I just got done cutting the some of the interior on a 32 Roadster. I am channeling down as well and I was thnking of some ideas for the back of the frame and I thought of your project...Thanks When are you heading out this way, I'll have to show you what I'm working towards, found a nice roadster done back a number of years ago. -
Nice build Bruce, really looks good. For as much as people are using the Kandy's these days we still don't see a lot done in Brandywine. The color is very nice and rich but most people go for the Apple Red. Great choice!

Nice build, they are sweet cars!

Hello sir, using the HOK pearls, generally you want just a straight white base if you want the color to come out bright. Using the HOK bases such as silver, golds and other colors are mostly the foundation for the Kandy's. The Kandy's are translucent so all the metalic and the depth of the color comes from what is under it. I hope that helps for the future, you can search the post under my name here and a few of what models are posted are done in HOK paints. There is a green van you can look at that is Organic Green over Orion Silver, Planet Green, Zenith and Solar gold and Pearl White. The pic is not the best but it will give you an idea of what one color will do over the different bases, Kandy's that is. Great build though!

Very nice!!!

Clean build, I really like this kit and having been wanting to build one for years! Great Job...
-
Thank you Scott for the comments, she is working on a 57 Vette Gasser and we'll post some pics as the process goes.
-
Thank you all for the compliments. The kit is Monograms Predicta. This was not my daughters first kit built but certainly the nicest to date. She took it to todays NNL Western Nationals in Santa Clara and received the youth award!!! We had chose this kit due to the easy out of the box build and detailing. I have been trying to keep her to cars that won't require much foiling and added details at this time so this was a great build.

Posted some pics of this last earlier in the week as in progress. My daughter completed the model this evening. She learned a few things during the process but enjoyed the build.

My daughter completed her Predicta, it came out very nice, certainly a few flaws but it was a great learning experience!

Its to bad you can't make it down Chris for the NNL. I'm looking forward to going and taking a few things. Its been a while since I've been to one for the full day, last time I went was about 4-5 years ago, Lani is also really looking forward to goin and taking a model for the first time. -
Thought I would post some pics of an old project I have recently started back up on again. This model was painted roughly 10-12 years ago and has been sitting since. After cleaning the body up, it was shot with HOK Nova Orange Base and then a number coats of HOK Pagan Gold was then shot and followed with either Sikkens or PPG clear, do not remember. The color came out really nice. I am using a newer interior from one of the custom versions, the floor is flocked in black, the rest is shot with HOK Snow White Pearl. Enjoy the pics all!

I like this Chris, don't know if I recall seeing it but it is screaming for some Candy on that body!!! Make it pop you know, lay out a nice base with some flake over the base, then the candy!!! Would get some attention for sure

Thank you Chris and Zukiholic...Lani was getting kind of flustered today while holding the link piece in place that hooks under the interior pan for the steering rod to set. After that I mocked everything up and it made her feel good for taking the time in holding those pieces while the epoxy set
