  1. I really like your build on this, very clean and distinct detail!
  2. Very nice and unique work!
  3. Hello All, I have been out of building models for about 9 years and just getting going again so I've posted some of my older builds in the "under the glass" section and will probably be posting some projects I've pulled out and am working on finishing now. This is the body from one of Galaxie's kits, has some body mods including the fade away fenders. This was a kit I actually won, it was supposed to be completed with each club member taking part in some aspect and the winner of one of our inner club contest getting the finished car. As the winner of our contest I got this kit and will be working to complete it along with some remaining members in the club that started it.
  4. This was a quick build when this kit was released, its box stock, only additions are flocking and the House of Color Pearl Base Coat. The flames are the decals that have been cleared in.
  5. Thanks for the input, I actually had a buddy shoot some pics for me so there are some of mine and some of his. I did find out one of my camera's has macro settings so I do need to learn to use it
  6. Very nice Build!!!
  7. Nice car! The color, rims, and stance really make it stand out. I have one of these started somewhere, I had forgot all about it until I saw yours, thanks!
  8. Thank you for all the insight! I have a Sony 5.1 mega pixel cyber shot. I do not know if this has a macro lens? I have a Cannon I purchased about a year later and it doesn't work as well for models. I was just going over some of this with a friend at work today and he took a few shots of my 63, 65 el camino and 40 sedan delivery, please take a look at those pics and I think you can tell which ones he took and which ones I took We didn't have the greatest lighting or spot as we were in the file room but the clarity is much better. I will have to go through settings and such on this or eventually get a better camera. Thank you though for all the insight!
  9. There are some basic body mods, shaved handles and emblems, the body was covered in a Maroon Metalic PPG basecoat/clear coat we had out in the shed. It's been hammered down and the engine has some basic wiring and detailing added. The floor pan has been flocked and everything else is pretty much box stock other then the mags that came from the parts box.
  10. Here are some better pics!
  11. Thank you guys for all the great comments! I am working on getting a nicer camera! The wheels if I remember correctly came from an amt 49 merc, not sure about the tires though. The colors really set this off with all the trim.
  12. Thank you for the comment! I do like the Chevy's in general and this was a fun kit to build!
  13. Thank you guys for the kind words. The name of the club is Monterey Bay Scale Auto Assoc. I got in the club probably about 17 years ago, have been out for the past 8 or so and just getting back into it. We would have club contest where we would all build the same car and that is where some of these creations came from.
  14. I built this kit after building the 57. I used the street engine parts off the 57 and think the wheels were also from the Camaro. The paint is Sikkens black base with blue and yellow graphics.
  15. This was a very fun car to build! I used the rally's from the Camaro and the rest is out of the kit. The suspension has been lowered, I corrected the front fenders by adding strip styrene to add the peak. The paint started as an PPG electric red but it was coming out almost pink, so I put a few coats of PPG Wild Strawberry over and it came out a nice red.
  16. This was built box stock with some added engine details. It's painted with a Sikkens Bright Orange, the decals were applied and it was all cleared in.
  17. I posted some pics of this 61 Impala sometime back but thought I would update it some as I added some Lake pipes it. Funny how one little thing can really bring out an appearance, specially after about 12 years! This model was fun to build though, simply primered in DP90, has 3 bar Lancers from Modelhaus (love em) and some parts box white walls. Enjoy!
  18. This is a curbside AMT 63 Impala with baby moons, thin whites, a hand made flat pan chassis. Its painted with a PPG GM Blue Pearl and the top is white with Sikkens blue pearl in the first two coats of clear.
  19. This kit is built using most the stock parts along with a chrome kit I purchased as well for a lot of suspension parts and engine parts. The wheels and steering wheel are from M.A.S and the interior is flocked with charcol and black flocking following the stock paterns. The paint is a PPG Chevy blue metalic that we had laying around in the shed.
  20. This kit is built pretty much box stock with the additional wheels from parts box, scratchbuilt steering column, flocked interior and lowered suspension. The paint is House of Kolors Passion Pearl.
  21. I am new on this forum so we'll see how the pics come out. This is a curbside I built for a club project back about 15 years ago. There are a few slight body mods and 37 Ford headlights. The color is a Ford green mist metalic. Will be posting some more pics later. If anyone has suggestions on good camera's please advise!
