  1. Nice build, I bet this thing really sparkles under the lights!
  2. Looking good! Can't wait to see the end product.
  3. Thank you RodBurner, the large scale rod is a gentlemen that is the club if I remember correctly, the Coffin is nice, my daughter loves that car and wants to build one after seeing how my fathers came out. The 60 El Camino is a Modelhaus kit. If I recall correctly, the color is a factory GM color as well. Thank you for the comments!
  4. Thank you, its fun, my daughter and nephew are doing pretty well. Getting them to take their time and not try to do too much to fast is the fun part. It has been a fun hobby and I'm glad to see them picking up on it.
  5. Thanks for sharing all the pics, this is really coming along nice!
  6. I had the same word going through my mind...SWEET!
  7. Good evening all, I was going through some pic folders and found some decent shots of some models, my fatehr, daughter, nephew and myself had taken to this years NNL Western Nationals and thought I'd post some. Some of mine have been posted previously but these pics are much better, still getting my camera adjusted, never ending, Enjoy the pics, the 53 Ford Pick up with the fenderless rod is my nephews and the predicta is my daughters.
  8. Nice build, I like the inside of the doors!
  9. Nice Rivi, I'm working on one of these now, nice kit and you did a great job on it!
  10. Thank you for the comment, I wasn't going to go through and finish it, just leave the trouble areas in primer you know and finish the model as an in progress car, but couldnt leave it alone. Got some stuff for the inside and chassis done today, will try to post pics once its set well.
  11. Well, against my prior judgement, I decided to go ahead and do the body work and get this thing in one color and cleared. Glad I did as it came out pretty solid. It will need some knocking down and rubbing but I think it will come out pretty nice overall. The color is HOK Bittersweet Pearl with PPG 3000 Clear. I've got the interior pieces shot in HOK snowwhite Pearl and will hopefully get some work in tomorrow on this. I will keep you guys posted.

I like this! I've got some ideas for something different to do in this style, kit just arived in the mail! Nice build!
  13. Thanks for the comments guys! I'm looking forward to getting back on this, thinking of ordering that chassis set up from Perry's Resins for it. The Rivi in the background is actually Bittersweet Pearl. That has been a project compared to what it was intended to be, I should have some pics up later today or tonight of it, it has been blocked down, repainted and just shot the clear a few hours ago.
  14. Looks really nice, I'm looking forward to building another one down the road!
  15. I pulled this body down from a shelf where it has been sitting for at least 8 years, going to dig out the kit and get back to work! The color is HOK Sunset Pearl with Sikkens Clear
  16. The rattle can primer I"ve been using is Dupli-Color and Specialty Products Grey Etching primer. Normally shoot a few coats, I give a little more distance than normal as they tend to shoot out heavy, then guide coat with some flat black and start blocking down, hope that helps.
  17. I've used that combo a few times, looks nice with the lowered stances! A buddy of mine is making some adjustments on my camera for me, hopefully be done today and I'll get some more pics up. Going to set up photobucket, I'm out of space as far as what is allowed through the site. Thanks for the comments
  18. MidnightProwler, George, and Mr. Zombie, thank you for the comments, this kit was the release after the yellow plastic is actually a greyish tan so it was easier to cover. I've used all sorts of primers, K36, DP's but you can get I think it is Plasticoat and there is one other I was using yesterday for filling some stuff, I'll check when I get home. I haven't used the rattle can primers as much as the regular automotive stuff mixed and sprayed out of a gun but what I've used so far has worked fine. I'll post the two I've used at home this evening, thanks again for the comments!
  19. A pic of the Rivi with a few others models of mine, my fathers and a few friends at the NNL West earlier this year
  20. Thank you for the comment Monty, Its a fun kit, I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow.
  21. This is an AMT 1965 Riviera kit built pretty much out of the box with a few detail items added. The interior is painted a medium tan with tan flocking on the carpet and headliner. The wheels are baby moons out of a 49 merc with thin whites. The body has had the body smoothed and emblems and handles removed. The paint is HOK Kandy Tangerine over an Orion Silver Base. The pics do not do justice for the color.
  22. this thing is going to be a beast!
