  1. Thanks for the post, I'll keep you guys posted as this comes along
  2. great start here, really looking forward to seeing how this comes along
  3. While sorting through stuff looking for parts for another project I found this 49 body and a 57 Chevy that had been started YEARS ago. There were some flaws which is why they probably got tucked away but I decided to work them over. Below are some pics after a few coats of primer. I see a number of more things to do which I was prepared for. I've smoothed off the drip rails, removed the door handles. Taken off the ford emblem under the side moldings and modified the custom front section. I'm most likely going to paint the stock wheels with some Guards Red and assemble them with the beuaty rings and possibly the caps and see how they look mounted on some nice white walls.
  4. Very nice work sir
  5. Great start, I really like that color
  6. cool build, certainly something different!

  10. Nice build, I am looking forward to building one of these soon!
  11. How's all, I've been posting off and on to this site for probably a little over a year now and I really enjoy the communications and seeing everyone's projects. I realized I hadn't really paid much attention to the general section. So that brings me here now to post something GENERAL, I've been building models off and on for probably 19 years or so and while moving some things around today I found some old projects, one of mine and one of my fathers. You guys know how it goes, great ideas, little something goes wrong in the beginning so you box it up and put it aside. One was an old 49 ford and the other a 57 chevy. I spent the day cleaning up the bodies and correcting some minor mis-haps and have the bodies looking pretty good! Figure now, I've just added two more projects to my list. Anyhow, have a good night all
  12. Enjoy the site and the folks here Steve, my daughter just started posting and really likes it. Great place to share and learn
  13. I like that my friend, the more I pay attention to what goes on in this world I realize the sacrafices that have been made in the past for folks like us to live the lives we do.
  14. I am not too familiar with airburshes but for the most part I use a touch up gun and have used everything from mini flake to regular flake. Depending on the look, you can actually use say a silver mini flake in or over a silver base, shoot a kandy over it and it will really come to life! I've got a buddy who uses a lot of fingernail polishes and they come out very nice as well.
  15. Is that the Orange Hauler in your pic? We've got a couple of those, the one in your pics looks sweet though
  16. That is a sweet shot, from all the years I've been building I never paid much attention to this kit, after seeing my daughters and one that my father did, I have so many plans I'll probably have to build a few of them, lol. We found an article in a Street Rodder, the issue is listed above but is was labeled a different name at the time but an easy copy with some baby moons from a 53 ford pick up (among a number of other amt kits) and whitewalls.
  17. nice build, i'm working on one of these now, can't wait to see the body mounted with interior and wheels!
  18. Nice build!
  19. Thanks for the link, we'll have to check it out as I want to build at least one of these, so much can be done with paint as you have a nice smooth body to work with.
  20. I like your thoughts here Rod, it is great to interact with the kids and keep this hobby going, I've grown up around the 1 to 1 scales and we do those as well as the models. It is great to keep their minds going in a good direction.
  21. This Camaro is sick!!! Beautiful paint, tons of detail...sweet build!

  24. Glad you are enjoying the site Lani and thank you all for the nice comments on her car, it means a lot to her. She was very excited yesterday as her plaque from the NNL West in Feb arrived for the youth award. Congrats kiddo!
  25. Hey Kiddo, you'll enjoy the forum! There is a lot to learn and a lot of talented people here, look, read and learn. The more you build the more you'll understand why I stress the little things! You were up past your bed time too
