Pick this kit up at a swap meet back in June, it was built-up. After stripping and reworking this is what I ended up with. I decided to go without the Red, White & Blue "the Machine" paint scheme.

The next posting will be in the Under Glass section, it's been awhile sense I've completed something. Almost there.

Extra time has been scarce lately but I have managed to complete the grill. I hope to foil the trim on the body this weekend.

I believe that this kit shares many parts with Johan's ambassador kit, the dash has the ambassador script. It may not be too accurate but its the only 1970 Rebel kit available.

This is the progress so far on a restoration of a Johan 1970 AMC Rebel Machine I started. I picked it up at a swap meet as a built-up it was painted blue. I used Super Clean and it removed 100% of the paint overnite. I decided not to go with the standard Red, White & Blue paint scheme.

Ollie's strike again
Drag Monster replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I always heard that Ollie's was a good source for discontinued kits but there were none in my area (Rhode Island). The first one in this area opened up on April 5, Well I didn't have to wait too long to find out that what I have heard was true. This is part of my Saturday's score I also got 5 Lindberg Dodge L-700 Tanker Trucks, 5 Ford Mustang 5.0 Police cars & 5 Pro Street 55 Ford Jukebox Kits. I also had a 15% coupon off my entire purchase every thing was under $400.00 -
I use Testors Fluorescent Red on my build it worked ok. I found it a little tricky to spray. If you are using a air brush I recommend practice on a scrap body or some sheet styrene, thinning to the proper consistency can be a challenge. Also all fluorescent colors are flat and will need to be clear coated.

Here are both the Bonneville and the boat built straight out of the box. The only modification is the resin wheels on the Bonneville. I would love to see it issued as a hard top but I'll take either.

New kits with flaws.
Drag Monster replied to Dave Metzner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow !! Even this thread has turned into a whining session! We are modelers people, if you can build them you should be able to fix them. With the customer base getting too old or dying off & next to zero new blood coming into the hobby be thankful for any new tooling you get. What I would suggest if you think you can do better, try scratch building. I for one welcome any new subject that is issued. Thanks Dave for taking the time To explain the process. -
I just purchased a collection of kits and these were included. The T-bird and one of the Bonneville are complete the other Bonneville has broken "A" pillars and one tire missing all have complete chassis and motors. I would love to see these run on the track.

I just picked up this kit in a collection I purchased, I can't seem to find any info on it anywhere. Does any one know any thing about it. I have been building and collecting kits for over 40 years and I have never seen it before. The kit is complete only some damage to the decals.
