Thanks man. Check it out, it's already finished! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...t=0#entry185782

Looks great. Whats the easiest way to change wheel offset/camber?

Wow! Excellent photos. I can't wait to see how it turns out, that color is amazing. Oh, and i love the "delrin" shift knob. Very cool.

I've never tried it, but saw the technique used in one of the minidreams threads... Maybe try masking tape to get the lines you want, and use that as a straight edge. It wont move, and you will be able to curve it by cutting the tape to shape if needed?

What was used to make the seat belts?

Thanks for the replies! I'm itching for my next package in the mail!

haha! I'm digging the style. Looks like it would be a light hearted, fun build. I see you just threw it up on Hobbytalk too! Great job

I've always been a huge fan of Lancia Deltas. Unfortunately they are a little hard to come by in the states. I found a rally version Lancia Delta Integrale, and i'm going to try making it into a street version. I'll keep the color, and wheel options a secret for now. After that i'm thinking a VW GTI R32 would be a fun build after that with an aggressive fitment style. I can't decide on what classic muscle i want to do yet, though. Who knows, i'm also thinking of entering in the drift competition, but i don't want the boxes to start stacking up like i've heard they can. haha!

I just put my playlist on random. Mostly rock, classick rock, metal, and some decent rap artists. But i usually just end up zoning out and talking to myself.

Nice build. I really like 2 tone paint jobs. This car came up in conversation at work a few weeks ago. We were talking about Triumph Daytona 675s, and someone mentioned that Dodge also had a car named Daytona. We wikipedia'd it, and learned a little about it.

Oh alright. The problem with this kit was that the front rotors didn't have any depressions at all. We've got a set of jewelers size screwdrivers in pin vises here at work. I definitely need to pick up a set. Thanks for the tips! EDIT: Love the MV. Reminds me of the one i sat on at the powersports dealership last year when i test rode the Hypermotard.

What sort of drill/ bit would you use for this type of plastic? Obviously a very small bit. I'm guessing you would just make a template on the computer to have properly spaced holes, and then line it up and make "centerpunch" to mark/start each hole?

I know it's not a car, but i'd like to share anyways. This is my 2nd model here. It is by Tamiya, and i like everything except for the way they had me put together the tail section of the body, and it made me wish i had body filler/bondo/sanding equipment. Opinion/critiques 100% welcome. Ignore the sleeping pills. A little dusty over here... Ignore the sleeping pills.

Haha thanks. I really don't deserve any credit. Just an aircraft maintainer supporting the guys outside the wire. They are the crazy, er... brave ones. I think that if there were a list of top 10 worst places to build models, Iraq would be high on the list. It's so dusty here it's impossible to paint anything! I got the bike all painted and put together, and i'm going to start the decals tomorrow.

Looks good man. How did you do the Carbon Fiber? -
The build looks great! Excellent job.

Thanks for the kind works, guys. I'm almost done with the Ducati, and will post pictures here probably tomorrow, or the next day. Just ordered another car that will have a little touch of flair. Aftermarket wheels, going to try a suspension mod, and a few deviations from the kit and i think it is going to be a ton of fun. It takes so long to get kits/paint out here! Hardly anyone ships FPO/APO, haha.

No polish on this one yet. Any tips on polishing after decals?
-
Thanks for the feedback! I thought the same thing about the front wheelgap, but most actual rally cars i have seen are set up like this. I thought about modifying the suspension, but i figured it being my first real project, that i'd stick to the plans, and get the feel for it.

Just thought i'd make a little intro/showcase thread. My name is Matt. I am an Avionics Technician in the Navy and i am currently deployed to Iraq. Picking up modeling to pass the time, and i am having a blast. This Subaru is the first model i have done since i was about 12 years old, so i'm still learning the tricks. Anyways, here are some photos of during and complete. I felt i needed to photograph without decals, in case i totally screwed them up and turned it into a mess, but i think it came out okay. Let me know what you think! Currently working on a Ducati Desmodicci race bike. (Are those allowed here?)
