Schroeder steering gear?
dimaxion replied to VW Dave's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
It looks simple enough to scratch build or cast . I believe the mass quantity you are seeking would be hard to get . Thanx .. -
Designed by comitee . Built by the uninspired . Sold by the unknowing . A modern excuse for a Car ... Thanx ..

International Harvester Scout
dimaxion replied to 91blaze's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Oh . I did forget about this detail . In '79 I owned a '64 . It did not have a rear window (frame missing too) . Some other problems but a great heater . I do want to make a model of it . Soft spot in my head ..heart ??? Thanx .. -
You do nice ..no great work . This build is just right and oozes rust . Thanx ..

IMHO , I must to state here . I worked for an Independent Pure Oil Station and a Company owned and managed Esso . The Women's Rest Room would be the nasty one . The manditory litter all over the floor is missing . I cleaned all in both places . The plunger is also missing in the Ladies Room . The rest of the place is perfect . Stained floors and a smite dusty . Somethings are missing . Oil racks , Wrapped Tires in Blue , Gold , and Red . Actually , these were used up and unusable worn out tires . These are for advertisment only . I had to wrap some of these tires at one time . The "Tape" was a bear to get right . Where is the Wash Rack and assorted stuff ? The manual Tire machine and repair cabinet for patches . The water filled tire shaped test tank for finding leaks .Where is the back room and the Propholaftics , Car Polish , Oil drums and the Pump assemblies to move the lubricants to the ceiling dispensers , Oil Filters and the main event : the Air Compressor ? Where is the back walled in or fenced where the Trash / reject tires / old exhaust / broken parts not having core value . These are just out the back door in the Shop area . This is before the Days of Dumptster . You can spend quite a long time making the details The Esso I worked at was immediatly next door to the regional Office . The Manager was some kinda nut . There was a "listening ear" aimed at the pumps to make sure the Corporate Greeting was said to every Customer . "Good (insertime of day here) . May I fill your tank with Enco Extra and put a Tiger in your Tank ?" A reel to reel recorder was attached to this .Inside were voice activated reel to reel recorders . This is to let the boss know every thing happening while he wasn't there . We called this "I SPY" . He also had the attendents clean up the Rest Rooms and water fountains immdiatly folloowing each customer usage . A mirror was used by him to check no water spots existed under the spout , let alone anywhere in the whole Rest Room . We called our workplace "Dickies Hospital" . This place would be in the Movies and TV . When we did get Vehicle work , we wwere to wash the bay . The paint (rack ect.) was redone once a month . The floors cleaned (lime/soap concoctions of the day) daily and after every car on the rack unless there was another waiting . The Hospital smelled like ...a Hospital from all of the cleaning solutions constantly used there . BTW , the "I Spy" sent a radio signals to his house . Located an a parallel street , directly behind about 1/2 mile away . I like your dio . It is a great build . One glance and one knows what this is . I hope I did not bore you with some history about Service Stations . Thanx ..

Super Charger build . Looks good , especially the interior . I like the Radio looking lit up (being on) . Thanx ..

International Harvester Scout
dimaxion replied to 91blaze's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
W/b in the day , a Promo 1/25 scale was available at IH Dealers . It was cast in heavy metal , in a medium metallic blue . Also made in the Good "Ol US of A , made to stand up to many hours of play . The grille was a decal and decal on the door of International Harvester . The wheels /tires were hoakie . The axle slid through holes in posts , wheels slapped on and the ends (this is my best descripton) were rivited . Better to start from scratch . The wheels were common with the Scout II in the 1:1 world . Gone was the anemic I-4 . A totally better vehicle . Why did the : 1st. gen vans not get modeled ? The Dodge A 100 , a conversion (Thanx Jimmy) but no Chevy Van let along the Corvan ?? How about the Econoline ? The first Broncos . I guess we all drove Minibusses in the '60's and '70's . Thanx .. -

dimaxion replied to gearhedjon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The Fiero Engine is the Iron Duke . It does not 'hand gernade' as so many of the General's sibling Engines . Thanx .. -
I ammamazed again . No more morbid than life itself . Lesson taught , lesson learned . The Family who's remaines in the casket have been lost for the same amount of time looking for closure also . Well thought out , planned , and "executed" . Thanx ..

any cast small ORVs out there ?
dimaxion replied to 440 Dakota's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I did get one from Grandpa's Toys Decades ago . I painted it all white . Blank w/no sponser . This is the way most of the Soap Box Derby Racers showed up . The sponsers kicked in ad money at the track . Ths Family mostly made the investment of the material and building time . Thanx .. -
Tom Coolidge 50 Pontiac
dimaxion replied to tabsscale1's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If Tom Coolidge was R&D Unique , Detroit Iron , no . I have one . It is an excellent kit . The only 'rivit count' is the later model V/8 chassis with the duallies . Instead of the Straight 6 or 8 pan . It is a Promo Chassis . Thanx .. -
Thism is when Coachbuilding was an art . Thanx..

I had a Perry's resin break on me . A '65 Dodge Coronet . I test fitted every piece while processing this build . The final part was the Taillight panel . The paint added just enough to the opening , pop ! The left side of the body broke out . The Taillight panle still didn't fit . It took a year , I did save it . Supwer glue and accelorator . Much TLC . Thanx ..
-
I wish I could see more than the chassis . is this a Mo Par or an AMC . The oil pan , intake , front of the engine look to be AMC ?
-
You did keep up and excelled . Nothing lacking and a great build . The flamethrowers are perfect . All of the details add up to just right . Thanx ..
