  1. Great build . Don't let your peers discourge you . You do nice work Ross . My first and quite a few others were glue bombs . These were the days (for me) of 1 tube of glue = 1 built kit . Even had a glue finish . I just didn't get the hang of keeping the oozinging glue on my hands off the surfaces of the kits . Please keep them coming . Thanx ..
  2. Considering the Chevrolet Emblem was copied from a restroom wall in Paris , France , a bowtie is a compliment . Welcome and kudos on this build . Factory Stock is my genre . Excellent build . Thanx for sharing .
  3. Sooo ..weee ! I like this little piggy . Is it one of the pigs 'Green Jelly' sang about ?? Thanx ..
  4. I sent one already . If he remembers me .....it has been awhile . I am in for another request . I and a friend of mine nagged AMT for three years for a '59 Impala & '53 Studebaker kits . Thanx ..
  5. Most casters do include instructons for using resin . It would not hurt to tell the caster this is your first time with ...your 1st order . Many tips are in this catagory . And ...you always can ask here . Thanx ..
  6. Hendrix offers a '51 Victoria . The '49 or '50 Ford , AMT , kit to finish it . Modelhaus has the wheels / hubcaps . Thanx ..
  7. Yabbidy cool ...
  8. The Petty Racecar is a '49 or '50 . The Business Coupes of the Era did not come with rear seats . This space was used by slaesmen to store their wares . If this space looks finished , it is a business coupe . If it looks raw , with exposed metal , the side panels don't go down to the floor all the way to the rear of the compartment . This wold be other than Busines Coupe with the seat removed . I don't remember NASCAR rules like I used to . Some models of these had a longer rear deck for more storage space . It varied depending on demand to justify the extra stampings . Thanx ..
  9. This model like any model is worth what the buyer is willing to spend . $1111.11 is way beyond what anyone is willing to spend apperently . "Not I !" says Cock Robin . I am going to ask Jimmy to cast this . Anyone else . Damand = supply ??? Thanx ..
  10. I did buy the 1952 Studebaker Converteble . I did the research , used the Fred Cady Decals to make the Pace Car from this casting . I think I'll do a bug in Jimmy's ear . Thanx ..
  11. All the above are quality builds . Most excellent and I agree with Ed . The long rams on the Wedge , punching the Buttons through the Quarter .... What a rush . Inbetween the runs there is always much activity to re-adjust the now hot Valves . Removing the Rams and the heat ..whew . Thanx ..
  12. Great rod . All the right stuff and "proper" colors" = just right . Eye candy and a plus to your collection . Thanx ..
  13. This looks Factory Stock for sure . I am drooling for this in my collection . Along with ; '35 , '38 , '42 , & '45 Fords . Nice work . Thanx ..
  14. Fast and complete build . The door and rolled canopy = just right . Thanx ...
  15. Red ..Thanx ..
  16. I had some resin bodys in a storage unit for three years . i did not touch them for a week . I had no problems . One model had a swayback . It was not on the top . Thanx .. To clairfy , the swayback was a completed model . It was not placed on top in a box . Thus the warpage . I had a few others , not on top , did well in storage . I agree , keep them in the house . Where to stash them without her knowing : you are on your own . I don't keep secrets . This is a key for sucess . I know , I failed keeping secrets . Thanx ..
  17. You must read the Book "Unsafe at any Speed" before you can criticize it . I owned , or was the riding Mechanic , for a 1960 700 4-dr. . It wanted to turtle . I found deflating the rear tires to 10# rather than the #15 reccomended it wasn't so unstable . Note : not a fix . If these early ones didn't have handling problems ; why was Ernie Covacs killed in his wife's , Edie Adams , new 1961 Wagon ?? Read the book . He certainlly didn't "push" to see what it could do on the way to the Grocery store . The '64 MY was the year of the fix . Another sin on these "cars" is the engine belt . Once you chuck a belt , throw it out . It took until the , once again , 1964 MY for a simple fix for this issue . Something like a little finger of steel to slap the belt back on prior to damage and chucckkin . J.C Whitney offered a (approximatly) $12 kit to stabelizer kit . The same modification all those racing these made as Prep . You hated these or loved them . The dealers had to accept these to get a popular easy to sell car since 1966 My some time of this year . . GM decided to drop the Corvair ASAP . After the cost was Amortized for the car . This decision was made at the start of the 1965 MY . Unloved and maligned , yes indeed . When the Last 1969 fell off the line , Chevrolet dropped all support for Corvairs . All parts not returned to GM within 30 Days , the dealers ate . What fun for repairs to vehicles in state of Repair . I know of one at the Body Shop almost totalled . It ended up being a trade in due to lack of parts . Lack of parts made especially Body and Collision next to impossible . . GM subsisdied Chevy Dealers to offer large bountys for Trade for other Models . The trade ins went ...away as any other undesired clunker . I have more ..this is enough . Any questions ? You did this build allot of justice . It triggers many memories . Thanx ..
  18. This vehicle is from France . Puogoet I believe , post war . Oops , wrong week . I vote model . I agree , 50/50 chance . Thanx ..
  19. I had a resin body's roof sag from a caster in the Early days . He gave me a free replacment body . He told me he had issues from a batch of raw materials . His name is John Heir . Unless your body is from someone oob , contact them for a replacment . Thanx ..
  20. I just picked up 'The Corvette Black Book' , no mention of color listed for Hardtop colors are listed . The soft tops wewe either black ; 4,727 & white ; 6,625 . Thanx ..
  21. Where's the excess glue smeared all ovet the place ? The finger and hand prints are missing too ! The glass is clear and unmared ? First effort , wow . Please keep them coming . Thanx for sharing ...
  22. Thanks Chuck . Also to repair the 90% that didn't make the destination ! Thanx ..
  23. Model is my vote ???
  24. I just had to respond to this . During the '89-90 school year I was exposed to a Chevy Guru . He stated Chevy was the winningest Car Maker . Had always been so . I reminded him of "off brands" . Mo Par , Hudson , and the whole gang . I also pointed out another truth ; Let's say you were a Aftermarket Cam Manufacturer . The Market for your products was pre-made for your products . The OEM was sub standard to the rest of the Industry for a certain Maker . You could sell 100 of these a day without fail . The others , or off brand , you sold 100 a year . Which cams would you sell at a lower cost ? This answered his claim Chevy Engines were less expensive to make Hotter ! Before you comment , think about the Meltaway cams made by a certain Manufacture still racing today . And the Ford / Chevy battle continues . Thanx ..
  25. Modelhause packages the Max Wedge Headers , not trimmed . Thanx ..
