I believe my mold of that hood is no longer useable.

I'd love to see one too; but there really isn't much to use as a 'starting point' to master one. I'm not saying it can't be done; but it would take a ton of work. This would be a great subject for Revell or AMT to do.

The slight thickness you'll note with my stock roof '33 Willys coupe body castings now are from remolding the body 4 or 5 times using a resin copy for each 'new' mold.....since I made changes along the way to improve the accuracy of the body. It is now something that I pay real close attention to when I use a resin body to make a 'second issue' mold. You do not see the slight difference in thickness until the third or fourth run; or if you use a casting from the end of the run when the mold has gotten weaker.......allowing the resin to push the sides out a hair more. Since catching this problem I've made sure to thin the bodies down more then the original master so that they will be thinner yet as the life span of the mold declines. On another note, Mill City Replicas' stock roof '33 Willys body is nice, but no where near as accurate as mine is.......if that is something that matters to you personally. I spent months making sure the proportions were as close to the 1:1 as possible since I dig '33 Willys so much! LOL! Also, the casting I had from them years ago was pretty thick, full of voids in areas such as the grille, and the front end and running boards were all molded to the body like a promo. I am not bashing them in anyway. The body was given to me by a friend; so I have no idea if it was a 'second' that someone got into his hands.

I'm still kicking; and the stock roof '33 Willys coupe body is still available.

Yeah, I can't say for sure one way or the other until I locate the files (photos) burned on cd's of my dad's old kit. I do know that he had the grilles and side trim gold plated like your's has; but so could anyone else I suppose.

I'd love to, but as I mentioned earlier, I do not have a casting of it; nor do I have the old molds or master. Here are some photos I had saved from someone else.......pretty sure it was built from my dad's resin kit; but it could have also been scratch built......don't know for sure.....I'll have to look through my cd's and see if I can find any of my dad's old photos of the kit spread out. As far as R&R goes, he might have very well cast a Kopper Kart in the '80's........never saw one from him that I can recall though. I'm sure my dad's was pretty spot on though. Btw, my dad was never sued by Barris; but did make the mistake of contacting him! LOL! George wanted so much in royalties that my dad told him to take a hike.......which forever changed the way he thought of his childhood hero.

The Kopper Kart was cast by my late father........Ed Fluck Sr. He ran F&F Resin Casting. It must be somewhere around 10-12 years since he came out with it. I've been hoping to come across one of these castings for a while now since I don't have my dad's old molds for it; or the master; which might not of held up too well after all of these years; and the number of moves my parents made.

Thanks for the 'plug', but I run Drag City Casting, not Speed City Resin! LOL! I offer an L88 hood for the AMT '72 Nova and the Revell '69 Nova. I no longer offer the cowl hood for the AMT Nova though.............Ed

Doobie, I make a '40 Willys coupe in resin; and also make a correct '41 Willys pickup cab that is based on the new tooled Revell '41 Willys coupe kit (like the Big John Mazmanian Willys kit). The AMT Willys pickup and the Revell '41 Willys pickup cabs are way out of proportion; which is why I decided to master a correct '41 Willys pickup cab. To kind of explain just how far off (in one area) that the Revell Willys pickup cab is.............just the door from that kit is as long as my correct body from the front door line to the back of the cab. The AMT Willys pickup cab is also too long.........for starters; but there's no need to go into all of the inaccuracies of both kits. Anyway, if you are interested, I can set you up with one of my correct '41 Willys pickup cabs; and more then likely a 'junk' '40 Willys coupe body that you could cut the grille section out (clean cut) to graft into the pickup body. I don't offer the grille pieces at this time; but it looks like you don't mind a little scratch building! LOL! Looks great so far Matt! I was a bit disappointed after reading that you plan on stripping the body..........it would look killer just the way it is........'pulled out of the barn, swap in the Hemi, rear, etc......and go racing'.........just like in the movie "Hot Rod"! LOL! Can't wait to see more! Ed

I forgot to mention that if you are going to build a '35/'36 Ford pickup you will need to start with Revell's '37 Ford pickup kit...........the cab is the same except for the v'd windshield. You will need to flatten out the windshield area; since the '35 and '36 Ford pickups had a flat windshield. I can not help you out with the correct hood sides; but you should be able modify the ones in the kits.
