  1. My brother asked me to make a diecast replica of Newgarden's first Indy car win at Barber Motorsports Park in 2015 for him. He was the gearbox specialist for Josef the entire time he was with Sarah Fisher/CFH/ECR Racing, and now they are both leaving the team. I started with the latest Greenlight 1/64 Indy Car with the new aero kits. The only problem is that it is in speedway configuration and I needed a road course version. So I got out the styrene and fashioned some elements for the front wings, rear wing, and the winglets on the rear pods. I also lengthened the pods like they needed to be, and also so the decal would fit. The decals are from GWS, and, man, in 1/64, they were small!! The Laski kid is on the left front here Started with a Dixon diecast

  3. I was wondering about that myself...

  7. Sweet! Thanks, Chuck.
  8. Looking forward to it!
  9. Glad to see this, Brad!
  10. Yeah, cool coincidence. Hopefully the conversation was positive! Thanks for the compliment, Chuck.
  11. Thanks, Brother!
  12. A couple of years ago, I finished a Revell Willys I called Stephanie's Rose, a theme build inspired by my little sister. Well, I spotted this Hot Wheel of a 41 Willys a few weeks ago and it gave me an idea of making a miniature Stephanie's Rose. It would also give me an opportunity to try a different paint combination that was used on the original. The bigger model I used House of Kolor custom mixed pink pearl. On this one, I used Tamiya Pink spray can, topped with two coats of Tamiya Pearl White spray can, and Tamiya clear. This was just a quick little diversion, and fun project. Thanks for looking! Here's the original: Here's the Hot Wheel I started with: My finished version:
  13. Meager efforts? My god man! All your efforts are amazing, as I'm sure this will be too. Looking forward to watching, my friend!
  14. Love it, John! The fact that you were able to use what was available to you and make a car comparable to the original, even better than the original, is a testament to your talent. You did the same thing with the Nashty Habit. People have to look twice to realize that it's not exactly the same. It's no wonder Carl Casper loves it!
  15. Hi Jim, I have to say, this is fantastic work. Even though I sell some aftermarket items, (including Pro Tech braided line, which IMO is the most realistic option available) I can really appreciate what you have done with materials you found yourself. That kind of creativity is how we innovate in this hobby. This is really great modeling and you are doing a great job on a kit I aspire to tackle some day. I'll be watching! -Art
  16. Great work on this!
  17. Wow, John. I love it! That wood turned the bottom into a must-see part of the car!
