Thanks for looking, guys. Since I missed the DSC deadline, I'm now shooting for the So Cal NNL on May 1st. Here's just a couple of shots of the completed tires.

Bill, I don't have any new progress pics just yet, but here's a pic Brad Norgaard (gasser59) took at the show from the in-progress tables.

Thanks for your comment, David. Much appreciated!

Thank you, Christian!

Now Mike, let me save you some trouble. I didn't count them going on, so you know... It was good to meet you last weekend. I really appreciate the feedback you have given me on this one so far!

Thanks, Buddy! As always, I enjoyed hanging with you this weekend.

Ron, thanks for the compliment. I really do appreciate that. In full disclosure, the Stephanie's Rose Revell model box was a gift from John Teresi. It's just a novelty item, and is really empty. But I'm glad it looks real! This is a great build and I will be following closely.

For the second year in a row , I got to see Chris' work up close and in detail. His meticulous approach to this build is mind-blowing. I left impressed! -
Thank you, Misha! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you at the show.

Thanks for looking guys. Unfortunately, I didn't quite make the deadline, but I did have it on the projects table. Again, missing my estimates .But it wasn't worth making mistakes or compromises. Hopefully, I can wrap it up for the So Cal NNL on 5/1. Danno, thanks for the hospitality yesterday. The show was great, as always, It was good to see you too. Glad you're coming over for the LLC. Be sure and hang out at my table a bit!

Thanks for the comments, guys! I'm building at a furious pace now to make it to the DSC with this build, so progress shots are few and far between. Here are a few I managed to snap, and I'll try to grab a few more before it's all buttoned up.

Moving along, trying to make it to Arizona! The wheels consisted of two halves that weren't very true and a little too large to get the tire over them. So I epoxied them together and trued them up a little. I also cut the inside a little too so that the wheel covers would rest against the wheel properly. Here is a wheel uncut: I got some resin decal rivets from Micromark for this build. First time I've used them and they didn't turn out too bad. http://images16.fotki.com/v3/photos/9/1464279/13921451/27481446207472-vi.jpg Then I got some color on this baby! The paint was a custom mix from Scalefinishes.com with Omni clear. It hasn't been cleaned up yet, and may get a second clear coat. Thanks for looking!

Tim, I can always appreciate a good rack , and this is one of he best I've seen. Very nice. Art -
Thanks, Bill! If I had more experience with lighting solutions, I might have gone a different direction, but I think this will work out in the end.

John, Bruce- Thanks for looking in! I really appreciate it. Chris- Thanks for the kind words, my friend. I'm trying really hard to make the main stage at DSC, but time may not be on my side. The upside is that there aren't that many parts, but it always seems like I minimize the estimate in my mind versus what it really takes me to do it!

That would have been nice! Could have saved a lot of effort making room!
-
Thanks, Colby! I got the mold made and one clear resin copy out of the mold. The other one is curing tonight. This clear stuff takes a lot longer to cure that the other stuff.

Man, real nice job on this one! I can really appreciate all the work that goes into it, and it was well-executed.
