  1. Man, you were a busy boy! That yellow Camaro is sweet.
  2. Nice collection, Curt!
  3. One of my favorite movies too! Love the model.
  4. Looking amazing, Tim. I really appreciate your efforts to strive for accuracy on those brakes- well all the parts, actually. Spectacular...
  5. This is going to be cool! Your earlier build looks great too, JC.
  6. Great update, John! I love your use of Charlie's Pro Tech parts. Looks killer.
  7. Getting back to this one after the Christmas Mustang. I've been working on the Injector tubes and how I'm going to plumb them with the fuel lines to match the references. I saw some aluminum injector tubes from Detail Master that my friend, Curt Raitz, used on his Tony A2Z F5000 car and thought they would be perfect for this one, and they are. The length is just what I needed. But, the real car has a fitting welded onto the side. I took some K&S tubing and gave it a taper on the lathe, which was not easy as soft as that stuff is. I cut them and filed them down and epoxied them to the side of the tubes.
  8. Crazy good scratchbuilding, John! you're a styrene master, Brother.
  9. Looking good, Tyrone!
  10. See the finished build here!
  11. The completed model:
  12. I took a short break from my long term projects to knock out a quick build for Christmas. I found this 1964 1/2 Mustang kit on clearance at Michael's for less that 10 bucks, and since my wife's sister and her husband have this car, I thought it would make a fun gift for Christmas for them. It was a challenge to get it done in time, including a long Christmas Eve, but their reaction was well worth it! Here's a link to the WIP. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/108886-1964-12-mustang/?page=1 Here's the kit. Here are some pictures of the actual car:
  13. The kit had wing nut spinners on the ends of the hubcaps, but the real car does not, so I punched out some styrene discs to fill the hole, and made a decal from a shot of the real wheel.
  14. I managed to get this one done just in time for Christmas. It was a struggle to meet the timeline, so I didn't stop to take too many pictures! But here are a few I managed to squeeze in. The kit only had one of the mirrors of the type that thazt the real car had, and it ended up going down my drain when I attempted to wash it, so I scratched out two of them. Added a MAD pre-wired distributor and scratch-built a coil (not pictured).
  15. Mitch, Len, Steve, I appreciate you all looking in. And thanks for the info, Steve.
  16. Thanks, Seth!
  17. No worries, Marcos!
  18. To my surprise, it is. When I started the model, I asked my father-in-law what color the engine was, and he thought it was blue, so I painted it Ford Engine blue first. Then a couple of weeks ago I snuck in a few pics under the hood while at my sister-in-law's house and it turns out it's red, so it went in the pond. I knew previously that it had been rebuilt at some point and wasn't factory painted anymore, Thanks for looking, Jesse.
  19. Thanks for looking, Marcos. I'm sure yours is going to be sweet. Any pics up yet?
  20. Thanks for looking, Jeff! I have been fortunate to get in the mags a few times. That's always a neat experience. Too bad you couldn't get your hands on your aunt's car today! Sounds like a cherry. My sister-in-law has had this car about 5 years and it's in pretty decent shape. With the new paint it got about two years ago, it's really looking good now.
  21. Thanks, John. we'll see. Factory stock is not my strong suite!
  22. Thanks, Joe! I'd much rather be a good human than a good modeler. I do enjoying being able to share my passion with family too.
  23. The kit comes with markings on the decal sheet for some of the emblems, but not the hood, do I decided to try the BMF under the paint trick. Seemed to work OK. The real car was just repainted with the factory Poppy Red color, so I ordered that color from Scalefinishes.com. I got the color on, but it needs a clear coat, which will go on soon. Thanks for looking!
