This is something from the old SLM website I thought I'd share, because that is what it's all about! I thought perhaps this should go in the tips, etc., but, they're used almost exclusively for drag racing, so, I opted for this page. I reckon an admin should feel free to move it, if that's a more appropriate location. They are so easy to build, that there's really no excuse not to, if you need a set!

Getting back into some hot rod modeling I am trying to find the best / most accurate parts to build a '50's to early '60's T bucket model in 1/25th scale. I have been out of the hobby for some time, but I have been digging through my stash and I realized I do have a wide selection of parts and kits to work from. In my stash: Revell Vintage Parts Pack T Bucket Chassis - complete Vintage Parts Pack '23 T Bucket body - complete Vintage parts Pack Speed Equipment - complete New Reissuse Roth's Tweedie Pie Butterra Chassis T Sedan and Phaeton - well detailed but too new for my current tastes for a chassis AMT Vintage Street Rod Series '23 T Full Fendered Roadster - complete Vintage Street Rod Series '25 Tall T Coupe - complete Various Double T kit parts and model - built-ups Parts Pack Drag T Chassis MPC Tognotti's T Show Rod - Started but no paint - some sub assemblies BlackJack T Street Rod Any suggestions? I want to do something like Tommy Ivo's T or the Kookie Car to early 50's in style and maybe a Rat Rod. I am impatiently waiting for my local shop to get in the double T kit and the '25T fruit wagon kits. Online dealers maybe cheaper but the shipping makes them more expensive IMO. What do you think of the suspension from the '29 A truck from Revell? Some pics of my sta-a-a-a-sh!

I have had this old chassis and it has all kinds of phrases molded into it. Looks like a Promo to me. Says Thunderbird on it. It does have a full frame,so I know it's a later T-Bird,but I cannot seem to find out what it came from. Anyone have any idea on what it is or who manufactured it? Thanks for any help. Brad

I have been working on-and-off since August on this project. The chassis main section is made from 1/8" square tube. The box 4-link rear is 3/16x 3/32 rectangular tubing. I started the roll bar using 1/16" brass rod. I tried to use some of the the online sources from Tim McAmis and others. Here are some images. Thanks for viewing.

Pick this up the other day at my local Hobby Lobby with my weekly coupon. Growing up I had a 73 Charger and this is close . Not a big fan of the orange body color but hey......Decided to go outside of my comfort zone and try to scratch build a chassis to lower it, put wider tires inside and a cage in it. This is what I have so far. I had drawn it on graph paper earlier to see what size to make things. Already had to make it smaller width wise as I want the body to fit over it and not as tight as the floor pan that came with the kit. I am using the rear end out of another kit from a dragster so to fit the wheels inside the body. NOW if any one has ideas, tips, tricks or comments please help a brother out. I am hoping that once I get this one done I want to make some kind of a jig to speed up the process for my next build. All depends on how much trouble I have with the. " The only way to learn is to try " my dad !

I just bought and received a beautiful resin kit of the '66 Toronado. But I am pretty sure I am going to need an accurate Toronado chassis. Any comments of any kind will be very welcome.

Here are some pics of the Chassis And the body, I Sprayed 3 coats of base on it today. I will let it dry overnight and tomorrow I will wet sand with 800 grit, then lay the decals down and then finally finish it off with 3 coats of PPG Clearcoat. The chassis is pretty well done other than a few small details, thanks for looking hope you enjoy

I want to add realistic suspension to my AMT 65 Buick Riviera. It has a bad promo style chassis. Can anyone recommend a kit that has suspension I can use. Would a revell 65 chevelle work?
