  1. thanks ratrodder. it's a MPC Kyote dune buggy, or what's left of one. It was a glue bomb kit that i have decided to just leave as a body at this time because 95% of the parts were missing or unusable. Here is the box top/write up from Dave's show rod rally website: http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/kyote_dune_buggy.html
  2. Thanks for the kind words. Randy--i forget which 23 window kit this came from--hasegawa or revell--but they are pretty much identical. I think the revell came with different mirrors (elephant ears). The revell was also much cheaper, I hope they reissue that run again. How are you building your 23 window? Bill Murrieta
  3. had an extra kyote dune buggy and had some extra paint so I decided to make a roll around for it to sit in the pick up bed. thanks for looking. Bill Murrieta
  4. set up the chassis using a 2nd bus chassis. This will have a full detail engine, no curbside. body pics tomorrow after primer dries a little. I will fill in the gap between the VW bus chassis and the inside edge of the ramp bed. Also decided on wheels. They are the 1/18 scale empi sprintstars from a Tamiya empi imp kit. Stretched a pair of big nlittle radials from the tire bin on them. more to come. thanks for looking Bill Murrieta "Buggin"
  5. he would have solved the mystery of the most sought after VW ever. This is a grail that has eluded VW nuts since the 70's. The original car was orange than painted white when it was chopped and then it was painted that super cool multi color (all candies) multi panel paint job before disappearing. I am going to paint this one the rare 1 or 2 race "white version". The other very famous late 60's or early 70's early chopped race bug that was blue was called "Lightning Bug". This one also had a lot of the cad plating. There are some great websites that have documented the Inch Pincher and other drag bugs. My fav: http://www2.cal-look.com/nostalgia/ Buggin Bill Murrieta
  6. second try at smoothing her out. figured out a way to get the suspension & seat height correct. most of the interior parts were from the parts box. since I closed the rear crew cab door I gave her the "walk-through" option. I will shoot some primer and work on the suspension tomorrow. This ramp truck will be part of an 'Empi' Team and will haul the "Empi Inch Pincher" drag car. thanks for looking. Bill Murrieta
  7. show us how you get the black in the door/lid gaps...I never have good luck doing it. Your transporter tarp frame support is fantastic!! great job! Bill Murrieta
  8. the wheels/rims on the bus are chrome from a revell model A....they sorta look like empi 5 spokes. I mastered the radirs on the purple oval in the background (afxnscale had them in their on line catalog) and they have alclad sprayed on them. the beading is fairly simple if you have patience to work about a half inch at a time....its just detail master spark plug wire. You lay a little down where u want it and then use a sharp toothpick and just a little 5-10 second high flow quick set super glue....running it right in between the wire and the seat so it just sort of wicks in. once again u just work a half inch at a time. I then usually just clear coat it with semi gloss or flat to blend in any minuscule glue marks. lot easier then it sounds. The wavy trim is because I got a little tired after doing the 3 seats. thanks
  9. I just added the glass and a headliner (white hockey tape!--sounds bad, but it works for me) and the door panels scanned from the hi tech kit. will finish this wkend. thanks for looking. Bill Murrieta almost have enough vw's for my own Bug-In!
  10. loved your effy, like this one also! you should do a tutorial on how you build so cleanly. I also like how you detail just enough to give us something to look at, but u do not go overboard.
  11. Type 2 mods: lowered, fujimi porsche rims and brake drums, revell 31 ford white walls, door panels scanned from hasegawa hitech kit, inside dr handles, pedals from parts box, ramp bed from revell small blk trailer, front turn signals from meyers manx with gunze '56 oval bezels. Tow'd mods (this was a salvaged glue bomb): fujimi porsche carrera dual cam engine; turned alum spark plugs, photoetch battery detail. thanks for lookin. Bill Murrieta
  12. THANKS! more vw's to come this week. Bill
  13. Rare Scalekraft 67? convert with correct window frames and convert boot. It was a transkit for use with a hasegawa donor kit. Revell empi sprint stars + big n little whitewalls from the parts box. Hopefully someone will surface with Guido's(?) ScaleKraft resin masters? Back to building/selling after a few months off. thanks. Bill Murrieta
