  1. I'm on the real train too. Real!
  2. Looking good guys. I'm liking all of these. My girlfriend is eager to get her's finished and show it off. 2 Questions: What about that rear bumper, as in the descriptions: It doesn't really fit and I assume some trimming in needed to get it to settle in. Also, what the heck are part number 85? They aren't in the instructions and I assume they're either optional parts or to a similar kit. They're L shaped brackets of sorts, I think. Any ideas? I just get curious as to what all the part are for. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
  3. Looking good Jim. I like the choice of blue over the red. Sure, red corvettes look good, but IMO they're all too common. It's nice to see them in other colors. The late 50's/ early 60's 'vettes are my favorite.Keep it going!
  4. I've been putting in some time on my Chevelle. Got it painted yesterday. Model Master British Racing Green. I'll have to sand it and clear it after it's dried a while. I'm pretty happy with the paint on this one. The interior is almost done. The dash needs a few more details and to be glued in. I've got a lot of work to do on the frame to get the stance where I want it to be. The engine has been painted and I've done up some ducting that I think I'm going to run through one of the headlight buckets. Thats all for now. Thanks for looking!
  5. These are truly incredible and true works of art. Great builds Cranky. I'm amazed at how quickly you build!
  6. Beautiful work so far. Those engines are models unto themselves! I'll be following this build for sure. I've got one of these on my 'soon to be started shelf'. It's a great kit with lots of cool extra parts.
  7. Beautiful and inspiring, Cranky. This this is wicked! All these '32's make me feel the need to get acouple and get to work. BTW, your water drop effect and technique is one of the coolest things I've seen on here; super cool!
  8. I'm doing a little pin striping around the edges of the big stripes, I've got to rub the paint out when it's dry enough (enamels...uugh) and then get some BMF around the trim and then mount the body and add the final little details and connect the hoses and wires. I'm anxious to get it done and its hard not to jump into it before the paint is cured.
  9. Great work Cranky, this is going to be beautiful when done. That engine is a worthy model in itself!
  10. I've been working on the Nomad too. Got the rolling stock pretty finished up and was able to shoehorn that 454 under the hood by moving the radiator forward. This was my first foray into scratchbuilding headers using solder and my collectors are a little big. I might find something to do about that. The mufflers are parts box pieces that I BMF'd. They aren't glued in place yet and will be parrallel to the frame when they are. Thanks for looking. Hopefully paint will be coming soon...
  11. Well, just a quick update. I got some paint on the old 'bird...finally. Primered and then a coat of silver, which will be the color of the racing stripes. Fresh out of the paint "booth". And here she is showing her stripes! More to do still to finish up, but I'm happy to have it painted.
  12. I'm going to say real this week.
  13. A shark is a fish: From Wikipedia Sharks (superorder Selachimorpha) are a type of fish with a full cartilaginous skeleton and a highly streamlined body. But I digress, I'm surprised that there arn't more cars named after seafood.
  14. I've got my computer in my build room and I just turn on Pandora and let it decide what to play. I've got different stations for the mood I'm in. If you haven't tried Pandora.com yet, check it out. It's free.
  15. This is looking good. I like the red oxide on the frame and base. Nice work on the paint job, that blue is sweet; I agree about the Boyd paint taking forever to dry. My girlfriend is building this same kit as her first model and is really enjoying it. I was happy to see it go together pretty smoothly and cleanly. I'll show her yours for some inspiration!
  16. Hi All, Something I've always struggled with and haven't really seen addressed on the boards here is when and how do you paint the inside of a car body. Priming is a given but do you paint the inside before or after the outside? If using different colors for the interior and the exterior how do you mask against over spray or runs over the in/outside paint? I'm just curious what peoples methods are and any tips or tricks are sure to benefit many. Thanks for humoring me on this. Cheers!
  17. This is looking great. That chassis is a work of art, well done. I love that red too, nice choice. Keep it going, I can't wait to see this one finished!
  18. For pretty much all the same reasons, I'm going to say model also. But the wheel weights and valve stems throw me a little... I'm guessing it's a large scale model...maybe as big as 1:1! how's that for covering if I'm wrong?!
  19. That's a sharp looking car and it does look good in white. Put a light bar on top and some badges on the doors and I wouldn't be surprised to see those cruising the highways pulling people over.
  20. Nice job on this. The weathering looks great. I feel like I need a tetanus shot after just looking at it!
  21. Yeah, thats the real thing. Reflections....
  22. Real. Real sweet too!
  23. This is why you don't park your muscle car in the same garage as your compact car. Or if you do, use protection people. "When used properly, car covers effectively prevent unwanted automotive reproduction 98% of the time...."
  24. I've just got to go with model on this one.
  25. They just debut the new Indycar Delta wing concept. It's like driving a jet. I think it would look more at home on the salt flats than doing the oval or being converted into the Batmobile. If and when they make a model kit out of it, I see a lot of cool options. Check it out; click the link below. 2012 Indycar Delta wing concept
