  1. Hey Eelco Thanks for switching out the Falcon for the Olds for me, this is what I will be building. One of my resin kits. The pics are of a mock up, its not started yet. I am a pro street junkie so that might be the direction it goes in, not sure yet. Nor on the engine choice, I did not cast the orig. kit engine but could use the engine out of the 66' 442 donor kit. The engine I sat down in the mock up with the 4 side draft webers is a DOHC Hemi,,,I guess that would be a crime against nature. Will post more pics when I figure out which way its going.
  2. Hey, If its cool with the host of the build I will switch from the 64' Falcon I was planning on doing to a 64' Cutlass F-85. That will put at lesat one Oldsmobile in the build. The Olds is more of a muscle car than the Falcon anyway and one of my fav. cars. So what say Eelco can you switch my car to the 64' Olds F-85 ??? Sorry to be a pain.
  3. How about mixing part A from one type resin with part B from another type resin and not catching it until it has total ate up your best selling set of molds when you have only made about 15 pulls from them, 4 molds in the bottom of the trash can,,,what a doofusssssssssssssssssssssssss
  4. Hello Everybody - I am working on a copy of my uncles drag car and have not been able to find anyone to do the decals for me. He has cancer and not doing to well, I would really like to get this finished and to him while he is still with us but the decals have me held up. I have 10 or 12 other people that want a model of the car so if someone can do them I would buy 15 - 20 sets. Any help with this would be a blessing. If I could just get the "Shade Tree Special" for the doors and maybe the white lettering on the windows, whats on the hood scoop,,,anything would help. Thanks !!!!! Here's a few pics of the car,,,,I have straight on pics of all the lettering if someone can help out with this,,,,Please let me know if anyone can help.
  5. I should have never took a look at your builds, now feeling like a worthless hack and thinking of going out to the shop and stompin on what I am working on. You work is over the top, they look like you could hop in and drive them off. Very, Very Nice. I would say 09' was a good year for you !!! Congrats !!!
  6. Thanks for the good words on the project everybody. I have a friend who is tryin to do the decals for me but is having trouble with them, If you or anybody else could make them or know someone that could it would really help. Our uncle has cancer and is not doing too well, I am really wanting to get this one done to give him. While he is still with us. Everybody around here loves his old car and I have 12 or 15 more to build for other people so I would be interested in at least 15 sets of the decals. Being I have so many to build I am casting most of the parts out of resin after I get them converted/mastered, like the chassis to keep from doing all that work over and over again. I am using a MCW resin body to do this one for times sake but I am converting a 61' Implala hardtop to a belair, gona cast it then change the roof to the post style so I can cast the bodies I need as well.
  7. I will see if I get get some older pics of the car, I know he has some, it used to be green and had a shade tree on the truck lid with an engine block swinging from it, thats the way it was when I was growing up. I think he painted it the medium garnet red in the early 80's
  8. About done with the chassis, will add some more pics as the work goes along. Started with this,,, Done a bit of hacking & cutting,,, Added some back,,, Made up a rear end to fit,,,, Thats about where I am now,,,
  9. Hey Jason Looks good, I like it. Can't beat a Hot V-8 V-Dub and the 40ish Ford front end don't hurt either. Can't wait to see the paint on it. The pics you got behind it with the colors looks like it will be interesting.
  10. Hello & Welcome As David said you should be able to find what you need here. Some top notch builders that are always happy to help with the building tips and questions. Just wanted to say Welcome to the Forum and I hope you enjoy it and find as much helpful info here as I have, I great place to hang out.
  11. Super glue would be the quickest way to join the plastic and resin, 5 min epoxy would be the strongest. Either will work.
  12. Every time I look at that thing, its looking better and better,,,I want one !!! You better glue it too the table at the meeting tuesday night or it might go missing !!!
  13. Would a 64' Falcon Sprint with A 427 cammer stuffed in it fit the bill for this build, prostreet maybe ??? or more of a stock type build what you are looking for ??? Just let me know and I might jump in depending on the deadline, have a ton of stuff going but this sounds cool to me.
  14. I'll second that!!! I have the '64 Cutlass and it is a beaut!!! I just ordered Modelhaus chrome and clear taillights for mine. George, Marc, Thanks for the good words on the casting !!! Hope you both enjoy building the cars. Porky had a good teacher ! Yep Dog, I did have a good teacher, Thanks a A Million !!!
  15. This is a sweeeet casting, I picked one up from KDog the other day. Very clean like all his work.
  16. No problem, you are right the fluorescent bulbs just don't do it as far as I have found, I have better luck with at least 100 watt bulbs and use the clear not the white looking ones. I have 3 of the small clamp on lights with maybe 18 inch flex mounts ( Walmarts ). I clamp them to the edges of what ever I am shooting the pics on and they seem to work pretty well.
  17. The pics are pretty clear, you might try a bit more light, might help.
  18. Hey Nick Its got to be Christine,,,thats a cool car. you can do the van next and maybe,,,one of my 53' ford Extra Cabs after that Dont think I ever saw one of them in a movie though,,,
  19. Hello - I have pics of them all but I can not get them to upload to photobucket to post them here, I tried. I got them as scans maybe thats the problem. As far as I know there were 12 in total, 6 beer sets and 6 others, the other 6 are the hard ones to find. 1 - Peterbilt 352 & Gulf Tanker Trailer 2 - Ford LNT-8000 & Haulaway Trailer ( auto transport trailer ) 3 - Kenworth W-925 ( Watkins ) & Reefer Trailer (Watkins ) 4 - Mack R685 ( Green Truck ) & Peerless Log Runner Trailer 5 - Peterbilt 359 Calif. Hauler & Box Trailer 6 - GMC General & North American Van Lines Trailer - Some of these are very rare and have in the corner where the spacer goes a GMC Step Side Pick-up truck The 6th beer set you dont have listed was a Kenworth K-123 with the same trailer I would be glad to e-mail the pics to you if you wish, I also have scans of all the Trucks sections out of the AMT Dealer Catalogs from 1969 to 2005. Hope this helps
  20. Hello, I agree that E-Bay would be the best place to sell the built kits but your friend will need to find a seller to consign the kits with that has alot of feedback ( over 2000 ) and all of it being 100% positive to insure that he gets top $$$$$ for his kits. Buyers that are shucking out the big bucks take that into account. I have friends that sell on E-Bay with low feedback but all good and I can list the same items as them and get 20 to 30% more out of the same items. Being a "Top Rated" "Power Seller" really helps. I think the bidders just feel they have a better chance at a smooth & seamless transaction. I do consignment sells if your friend is interested, you can check me out on e-bay under the user name "porkynpetunia" Hope this helps & Have A Great Evening !!!
  21. Nice build Nick, Keep up the good work !!!
  22. Thanks, it was a quick, fun build.
  23. The tint was on the windows when I got the body in the parts lot, it looked like who ever did it had used tinted film of some sort on the back side of the glass, sorry not to be of more help.
  24. I saw the Suzuki that was posted here the other day and remembered building this one first of this year. I got the body and interior tub in a parts lot the rest came from my parts/junk box. Raised it up 6 scale inches, 49' Merc headlights, used a 29' ford headlight bar for the light bar, pushbar and driving lights front and rear, removeable 5 gal. gas can on the spare tire carrier, seat belts, trailer hitch ball, readable gauges, etc. I left the old beat up paint on it, was a pretty quick build about 2 days best I remember.
  25. Hey Moparfan426, If you are talking about the 53' Ford Extra Cab they are 35.00 bucks,,comes witht he cab and floorpan/running boards. If you are wanting pics of the 65' Extra cab, it will be a couple days on pics of it, I just started messing with it last night and its still just a couple cut up cabs, I will post some pics when I get it a bit futher along. Ok cool, I have a question though Eric, will you be doing a '65 chevy crew cab? Because that was a actual GM production for those trucks, my cousin had one up on his farm. Hey Nick, I did not know they made a crew cab 65' Chevy,,,I will get on the net and try to find some pics of one, If its possible I will try one after the extra cab. The extra cab will for sure be a custom, I am making the back door line straigh and moving the orig. rear sloped edge of the door/glass back for the small side window of the extra cab. I Think.
