Where ya goin' Hot foot?
Porky replied to RJWood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Your right on the bikes, was hitting right at 140 on the V-Max one night in the fast lane on I-40, the handle bars shuttered one time, very little and I went from the middle of the fast lane to the middle on the slow lane,,,if it had went the other way it would have been all she wrote !!! After that I never rode any bike over about 80. All this was around 20 years ago, I stay right around the posted speed limits now, guess I have got older and maybe a bit smarter, maybe -

Somewhere about 140 - 150 on a tricked out Yahama V-Max, about the same on a Yahama FJ1200. The V-Max was more of a rush though, no fairings to keep the wind off ya. Had a 73' Duster 340, the speedo never worked in it but it would pull 7800 rpm's in high gear with 391 gears, can't remember how tall the rear tires were to figure the speed. Ran Mickey Thompson's on it I think around 25 - 26 inches tall, so I would guess around 140 or so ??? But the most hair raising fast ride I have ever taken was about 125 in a friends boat, not the fastest by far but for sure my least fav., would never do that again, another ride I would never take again was in the same guys twin turbo porsche, I have no idea how fast we went in it but it was by far the fastest street car I have ever set my butt in. -

Peterbilt fenders
Porky replied to choppedpete's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hello, I just bought out another resin casters biz the other week. There is a mold for a set of 359 Pete outlaw fenders if they would do you any good. The 379 Pete Ext. hood that I got in the lot has the fenders cast on it but I have a couple in the junk box that came in the deal with holes in the center of the hood but the fenders are good, if they would help you out let me know. -

I am working on a 53' Olds from Dave at MCW, it is a pretty nice kit, but like you have never saw the 69' kit in question. MCW's service is hard to beat, I might try it there, can also pick up the factory colors for the car there as well. -

I Like It !!! That is looking very good. -
The reference for this resin set was 1959 - 1963 900 Series.... For all you "custom" guys out there....THIS is the cab you wanna use for doing custom Kennys....It has the small split screen; and the roof is about 4" shorter than ANY kit cab. ( That info was added to the post by Matt Burnett, he is the maker of the masters for this set ) I have just bought alot of stuff from Budd Ricker, he was running Rivers Edge Resin and has decided to call it quits for now. I also tracked down some of the master parts that Matt Burnett ( monkeyclaw ) made when he was doing 1/24 - 1/25 scale truck parts, some nice pieces in the lot. This KW was one of them, mastered by Matt. So stay tuned for some new cool items from Porky The under door boxes are not part of the old KW parts set, they are for the KW studio just used them to prop up the old KW for the pics

2010 ??? Kenworth Daylight Day Cab
Porky replied to Porky's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I have had alot of people ask me about this cab working with a T600 hood. I took a few pics of the cab with the T600 hood on it, it fits it to a tee and looks pretty good on there I think. I am going to have a few diff. T600 & T800 hoods that will work on this cab so I am casting it the first time with the T600 mirror holes in the cab. Might cast another with the holes closed for the 900L hoods later. So if you are building a W900L on one of the first cabs you will have to close the mirror holes. Comments ??? Questions ??? -
2010 ??? Kenworth Daylight Day Cab
Porky replied to Porky's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I think I am going to end up removing the breather plate and the builder can add it or them back depending on which truck they are building the W900, T600 or T800. If I remove the plate I think I would cast and include 2 breather plates with the cab. Any thoughs as it which way would be better ??? Always open for input. -

Hey Jim, Thanks on the cab. The W900's do run very diff. mirrors than the T600 & T800's, the holes in the cab are for those mirrors so they should be deleted. Just afraid I am gona loose some rivet detail in the process but I guess it would be better to loss a couple rivets than have the wrong mirrors -
Hey Kostas Glad you like the parts, the cab takes a bit of clean up work with the windows but is pretty nice, the hood is a great piece and takes very little prep work before paint. I will ship to you anywhere on the planet my friend. Greece is not a problem. You can send an e-mail through our web site to order the parts at eric@ppvintagekits.com Talk to you soon !!!

Hey Jim, The Studio cab will work with the amt T600 hoods I know for sure any other that will fit the AMT T600 cab should work with this cab as well. I guess you are talking about the slam locks for the day cab I am making, if so the answer is yes, I will include 2 of the Don Mills slam locks with all the day cabs I ship out.
