For now it will be clean but I do know why it was the filthy forty, I have never tried dirtyin' up anything but maybe I can give it a shot on this one a little later on or Maybe I could ship it off to ole Cranky and get him to put his touch on it, he is the best that I have ever saw at that type of work. His work is simply amazing !!!

Satco Update - 3Rd Tire Added
Porky replied to cnaind's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hey Alan, this is the tire I was talkin about. -
Hey Guys, Thanks for all the good words on the gasser. Got a bit more done on it today, tonight, this morning Chassis is pretty much completed except for gluein' on the rear bumper, the one that came in the kit is not correct for the 1:1 car but it may get stuck on anyway not sure yet. Interior tub is done. Body has 3 coats of Dupli-Color Hot Rod Gray Primer and a couple light coats of clear after I lay the decals on it I will dull coat it. All the chrome has been dull coated, did'nt want anything too flashy on this one. About all that is left are the decals, dull coat and final assembly of the body, lights, glass etc. - Any comments are always welcome and Thanks for takin' a gander at the Filthy Forty

How long do u soak a resin piece!
Porky replied to my 70 chevelle ss's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hey Will, I use purple power to soak my resin parts in. Most of the time just over night and have heard some people say a few hours in it is enough. -
Hey Paul, Thanks for the comment on the stance of the car, the rear was pretty easy, just fit the quick change rear housing to the kit parts. The front a bit harder to figure out. I glued the kit leaf springs to the frame, the cut out the springs leavin' the mounts / hangers and then fit a pair of leafs out of a 37' chevy kit to the hangers. It came out right on what I was looking for.

Hey Scott, Thanks for the good words on the Willys, Still scratchin' my butt as to how to make those grills, tried a couple diff things but nothing has looked right yet. The leave it open idea somebody said is soundin' pretty good right now
-
Hey Kevin, It will have a moon tank sitting right behind the grill opening for sure, might end up leavin' the grill open or just usein some type of screen in them as I have not come up with a way that looks good enough to suit me to make the factory grill inserts for it yet.
-
It is the revell kit body, I reshaped the grill opening and added the center bar. Tryin to figure out now how to make the grills

Hey Guys - This is what I have on the bench now, its a club build. Charlie Hill's Filthy Forty Willys, 283 cu. in. chevy, port fuel injected, quick change rear end with wide 5 wheels. Had a hard time getting the stance right, ended up puttin 37' chevy springs under the front and I think that got it about right. Just got the engine finished tonight and started reworking the grill. Let me know what yall think.

Dupli Color Primer Sealer
Porky replied to Porky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Guys, Thanks for al the input. Seeing as how I trashed the paper work on the sales transaction. I guess I will have a few cans of the stuff on the shelf. -
Hey Guys I guess this is a stupid question so go ahead and laugh and git it outa the way, then answer the question Can Dupli Color primer sealer be used for a base coat, I went and stocked up the other day on the buy one get one free deal at Advane Auto and when I got home I noticed that 4 cans of it was marked Primer Sealer instead of the Sandable Primer that I use most of the time. Any Help Here ??? Thanks Guys

A Couple of New Masters
Porky replied to cargostar's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hey Dave, Great looking work, as always !!! If you dont mind me asking, Which cab did you use as a base for the "I" series master in the pics with the 9400 hood ??? -
No problem on the conversion ( its 40.00 ), I like the older trucks better as well,I just dont have too much going on there yet with the resin except an old 60's needle nose Kenworth and I dont have it listed on the site yet. This is a link to our website http://www.ppvintagekits.com/index.html Here's a pic of the old KW, cab & hood are 45.00
-
Hey Blake, I have to agree with everyone else the kits go together pretty well, well the older ones, I have not built the re-issue yet but when I picked up a few of them I liad one out beside one of the old Ertl kits and the only diff. I saw was the color of the plastic. If you ever want to try another one in a newer style truck I have a 9300 update conversion parts set listed on our website
-
I have a few of the later issue AMT 1/43's an maybe a few of the monogram's that they issued with the PE parts detail masters I think they called them but most are other resin multi media kits, about all are race cars I think and a couple 1/43 scale semi trucks and even a box full of older resin cast 1/48 scale semi truck cabs ( which turned out to be a bit large to use with the 1/43 cars ), all just collecting dust - Bought them up to do some racing rigs with the semi's for haulers.
-
Looks like you are off to a great start on these, I really like that pick-up. The resin wheels and tires look good on these. Jump on in the resin casting the waters fine If you get in it and I can help out with anything just give me a shout.
-
Hello, Those are some great looking 1/43 cars you have there. I did not realize anybody here built any small scale stuff. I have 8 or 10 1/43 scale car kits I need to get shut of being I never build any small scale kits anymore.

Truck ID help...
Porky replied to Mike W.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Mike Matt is right, I can hook you up with the aero / studio sleeper cab for the build. Cab comes with floorpan, updated dash, steering wheel assembly for 45.00 or 50.00 with 2 step boxes. The 900L hood in the pics is not included for that price, but that hood conversion is offered for 40.00 Just let me know if I can help you out with one or anything else -
