    Logging truck

Hey Daniel No worries on this end, I was not worried about getting the kit back though, I would have been yours to keep. I will never build it.

    Logging truck

Hey Daniel I think this is a very nice truck,,,it this scale just getting it in one piece must have drove ya nuts, I think it is toooo cooool. Do you build much in 1/160 scale ??? I have an old steam shovel that is missing a part or two I think, its a metal cast kit, if you are up for giving it a try I will send it to you.
  6. Hello, Great work on your truck. Alot of attention to detail, very nice the way you lowered the suspension. I will stay tuned to your build and can't wait to see your truck finished.
  7. Hey Dave No problem, I will let you know when they are ready
  8. Hey Jim Just go ahead and order you at least a case of those donor kits Was waiting on a single axle torsion bar set up to arrive so I could do one mold with both the tandem parts you sent and the single axle set up. The other parts arrived today so i will try to get to clayin' up the parts in the morning.
  9. Hey Frank Are these the boxes you are looking for ???
  10. Hey Hey, I might have something for you too, I have a master for a Fl Condo, it needs some work so I am not sure about casting it but I do have a midroof FL with a classic hood listed on e-bay and I think I may have one more of those cabs, it has opening doors and all, I also have one of the condo roofs left but you would have to cut the roof off the midroof and fit the condo top to it,,,the condo top needs a bit of work but is useable, the cabs are the last out of the mold before it gave out so they will need work too, let me know if you are interested and I can send you some pics.
  11. Hey Jim,,,your the KW guy, I know,,,well I have something coming that might interest you too my friend. I have just worked out a deal with Bill Drennen to cast his 1/25th scale W900L straight windshield conversion kit. Its a complete conversion with the updated cab, 900L hood and all the goodies to go with it. Will be a few weeks or so maybe a month as he just put the masters in the mail today. Will also be doing his 1/25th scale Pete 379 ext complete conversion, cab, hood and all the goodies for it, his 1/25th scale Pete 358 hood conversion and last but not least the 1/24th scale Pete 379 hood conversion that he offered, So I am thinking I am gona be pretty bussy for awhile makin' molds
  12. Hey Guys, Just got in a new master part crafted by Ryan Mlynek, An updated Peterbilt 1/24 scale cab, it has been updated to the late model style with the ultra roof, larger door windows, larger safty glass in pass door, under window rivet detail, updated door latches and has interior detail in the headliner, back wall is set up for the walk through sleepers. Let me know what you think, should be ready for sales in a week or so. Can use any of the 1/24 scale Italeri pete hoods with it or any other hood that was made to fit the Italeri cabs.
  13. Hey Marc, Thanks for the input, I have a ton of the pro street coronets so thats cool. Now all I have to do is to get some on the way from Al. Thanks for posting the tires, they should make it much easier to get the stance down there on the pro street cars.
  14. Hey Blake, Check out this link, you might get a kick out of it http://public.fotki.com/DWDarby/model_cars/amt_corporation/ In pic #2 fe825aed read the last of the text and you will see what AMT stands for, as Bill and the others said it is Aluminum Model Toys, but this guy has a ton of pics in info in this folder, check it out.
  15. Tooooo Coooool, Gota Have Some !!! Hey Marc, what kinda choices would you have in wheels for these tires ???
  16. Hey Randy How goes it your way, good I hope. Ton's of pics, thanks for the link !!! Give me a shout sometime, been awhile.
  17. Hey Tom, Thanks for the pics. I found pretty good ref. pics but I guess I just dont have the skill to make the inserts, I tried twice and both goes at it ended up in the trash, maybe I will give it another go and the third time will be a charm
  18. Hey James I got the rear wheels from Kenny ( K-Dog ) at Bandit Resins, I think they are made by someone elae though but I cant remember who, they are wide 5's to fit the resin quick change rear end which also came from Kenny.
  19. Hey Blake The body and chassis are from this kit, I reworked the grill openings to look like a 40' though, engine and headers are from the amt/ertl 57' vette gasser kit, the rear wheels are resin wide 5's with polar lights funny car slicks mounted on a resin quick change rear end and it has 37' chevy fornt springs grafted to the willys mounting brackets, front tires and wheels are form the 33' willys van kit and the decals are from Slixx. I killed a few kits to build this one.
  20. Hey Guys - Thanks for all the good words on the WIP pics, It is finished minus the grill inserts that it may or may not get one day. Here's the parts run down, started with a Revell Stone Woods & Cook kit. Added 37' chevy front leafs to the kit spring hangers to get the front end up in the air. Resin quick change rear end and wide 5 wheels Thanks to K-Dog at Bandit Resins, fit that to the kit parts for the rear suspension. Engine is a port fuel injected 283 out of an amt/ertl 57' vette gasser, fender well headers are from the same kit, front wheels and tires are from the amt 33' willys van kit, rear slicks are from a polar lights funny car. Rear bumper was made from plastic stock with the kit brackets. All the chrome parts were dull coated. Few coats of Duplic Color hot rod gray primer, couple light coats of clear, decals by Slixx then it was dull coated. For a quick build I think it came out OK, let me know what yall think.
  21. Hey Russ I have been meaning to pick up a copy of that book, would love to see some color pics of the Filthy Forty. All the pics I found on-line were black & white. Wait no longer, here's the finished "Filthy Forty" - Well it still has no grill inserts, maybe it will get some one day.
  22. Hey Blake It's the Stone, Woods & Cook kit. One of the later issues " Motor Sports"
  23. Hey Dave, I think you hit the mail right on the head and I really dont want this car looked at as a rat rod. For now and maybe always I think she will be clean, it is decaled as the first car they ran before S&S got on board so it must have been clean one time maybe only one time
  24. Thanks for the input on the weathering, I have been reading up on it and checking out some of the post here on the subject. When I get it figured out I might dirty up the willys a bit, most of the pics I have found of the car had right much red mud around the bottom edge and on the tires, have found a couple places where they said they would park the car out in the mud if they could find any to keep the people away from it, other racers from looking under the hood and to keep the fans from pesterin' them. I have "rusted out" one of my resin 64' falcon bodies to do an old junk gasser out of and try out the weathering on. Figured it would not be a great loss to screw one of those up.
  25. The primer wont hurt anything, just remember the parts will come out with the same texture as the master part, if you want the parts to have a slicker finish you can throw on a coat of paint and buff / polish the part. Remember to wipe off the part with alcohol or something of the like after you get it clayed up, before pouring your rubber to make sure your part dont have your finger print on the outside of the cast part. I think Perry's Resin dose a nice 427 SOHC, I was thinking do doing it also at some point as I use a few of them.
