  1. Anne you should pick up the DVD that Alumilite put together. It is very informative and a good place to start. Their HS2 rubber is extremely easy to work with as is their white resin. You do not need a vacuum chamber or pressure pot. Carol at Alumilite is a joy to speak with and a wealth of information. IM me any time if you need help.
  2. Interesting subject that came out beautiful as usual. Awesome job and pictures.
  3. That is simply amazing! Love the paint. Incredible looking build and pictures.
  4. They look great Krishna. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Outstanding Mark! Beautiful job.
  6. There are tons of items printed smaller than this, looking great as a highly detailed model part in this scale? I have yet to see such a thing. I have seen 3D printed turbos, intercoolers, manifolds, etc. in 1/25 scale and while they look cool during "mock up" they are more a "novelty" in reality with the grainy surface texture they exhibit. You cannot yet achieve very crisp highly detailed pieces of this size in this scale right now (think injection molded or resin cast quality). A turbo or procharger like unit in 1/25 would be very small and highly detailed. Trying to rid the printed piece of its texture in this size would simply remove any of that detail you did manage to print and ultimately be a waste of time and effort. You will essentially wind up with a sanded down unrealistic blob. Gook luck with your endeavor however.
  7. Frank I give you credit for trying this and coming up with what you did. However, IMO at this scale parts this small 3D printed are a fail. The grain/texture on a piece that small will kill its visual appeal after paint is applied. Also, trying to smooth out the texture on an item this small with any level of detail remaining will be next to impossible.
  8. Nice paint and nice pictures! Good job!
  9. Cool Fred! Cant wait to see what you do with the items soon to be coming your way.
  10. Thanks fella's! New pics added. Had a friend help me.
  11. Awesome! Looks perfect! Super nice job.
  12. Mike excellent job. Looks awesome.
  13. Thanks for the tip Sean! I'm a huge fan of your builds and photo taking skills, so I appreciate the kind words and tips.
  14. Thanks fella's. Fred the procharger was scratchbuilt from styrene by me and cast in resin. Bill, I sure would like to see your photo setup. Email me at scaleturbo@yahoo.com thanks!
  15. Thanks guys very much. Really appreciate it. Steven and Bill thanks for the photo taking tips, I'll definately try those recommendations!
  16. I agree, looks like 1:1 in most photos. Very nice attention to detail, right down to the muffler hangers. Very nice and a dead ringer for the movie car. Excellent job!
  17. Few more ..
  18. I had a friend help with taking better pictures. Added those below. This started life as a Jada 2006 Corvette Z06 kit. Color is Dupli Color laser blue pearl with metallic black for the roof and about 8 coats of clear (DC and Testors One Coat). Rubbed on with Scratch X 2.0. Will need to take some photos outside in order to make the color really pop. Was having a hard time taking pictures indoors tonight so I tried a couple different locations and different back-drops. Original build thread can be found here. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=55921
  19. And here is where I lacked on the picture taking lol. Final assembly was done without any pictures as all the sub-assemblies were almost all completed prior. Here is the finished engine insert and one teaser of the finished model. She will be "under glass" soon! Thanks all for the kind comments and being patient with me over the past year as you followed along. I'm very happy with how it turned out and anxious to start a couple more projects.
  20. Intercooler finished.
  21. Also worked on the interior to finish it up. Added belts and harness bar behind the seats. Moved on to the intercooler. Made this from styrene bits and some aluminum for the hose connections. Also worked on the headlight buckets. Painted gloss black and added awesome MV lenses.
  22. Hi guys, sorry for the long delay with updating this build. As I worked on finishing this as well as working on other projects I didn't take as many photos along the way as I wanted to. Nonetheless, here are some of the last items I worked on as I finished this build up today. Simple floor mats are styrene painted black and a quick sprinkle of embossing powder on thinned white glue. Also added piping around the mat with Detail Master wire.
  23. For folks displaying models, do they have to bring them in by a certain time? Like between 3-5pm?
  24. Looks great and love the paint. Nice job
