Molded wipers? Pretty cheesy. The seats look nice and the engine appears to be really simplified. I'll probably still buy one though. Thanks for posting the pics.

Air bubbles in Alumilite resin
shucky replied to Austin T's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Austin, I use tiny metal picks (similar to the tooth pick idea) which came from hobby lobby to whisk away any tiny air bubbles in those areas you describe. If you wipe the pick off quickly it'll last forever. I've always used these instead of toothpicks because they have a much finer tip to them. I also run the pick horizontally over the mold (for 1 piece molds) through the resin but not touching the mold itself to remove any bubbles. The bubbles follow the pick as you move it through the resin leaving a bubble free casting. I also use a spray mold release (Price Driscoll) and a quick dusting of baby powder on a heated mold. -
Both are absolutely stunning! Awesome job.

Along with the 2 new resin wheel centers, I have also added a resin sleeve option as well as 2 additional tire options. You can now get the wide sleeves (4) in resin or aluminum with your choice of any of 8 resin wheel centers plus Pegasus 23 inch low pro tires. These tires fit wonderfully on my custom sleeves. In addition, you can now also get the narrow sleeves (4) in aluminum with your choice of any of 8 resin wheel centers plus Tamiya Michelin Pilot tires (all 4 same size). Of course the original wheel packages with narrow front and wider rear Tamiya tires are still available. Here are some pictures of the new packages. Resin sleeve option with Pegasus tire.

The purple pond. Castrol Super Clean. Strips chrome in less than an hour. Also not kind to skin, so avoid getting your fingers in it.

Tommy, looks like a nice clean project! Nice job so far with the engine swap.

Guys, thanks so much for the orders and the kind words! I'm working hard to get more finished. I will be adding 2 more styles next week. A classic 5 spoke mag and a large diameter Fuch's. I will also have some options for wide tires at all four corners and some sets with resin sleeves instead of aluminum. Will post pictures in this thread when everything is ready.

Some really Sweet turbos from Shucky
shucky replied to envious8420's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks guys for all the kind words. For those that have asked, I was indeed taking orders and working on a website a couple years ago. I was mainly using Fotki for a price list and product pictures. However, as some of you know ... resin is very time consuming and demanding. I did what I could until I just simply burned out. It kept me from my own projects and I hated having piles of pending orders that I didn't have product to fulfill, even though I never made someone wait more than 4-6 weeks. As I eased back into doing some resin, I decided the only way to do this was to only sell product that I had on hand (made and ready to ship) and greatly limit any "order" taking for resin that was not made yet. In doing this, I'm able to still work on my own projects, which was the main reason anyways for learning how to resin cast, keep the wife happy, still do my part around the house, ship parts within 1-3 days, not get stressed out, and still offer a small and hopefully unique line of products. So, until I come up with a better way .. ebay has been working very nicely for me. When I have products finished I simiply list them on ebay. When I'm out of product, I'm out until I decide to do another run of resin. I know some folks dislike ebay, so what I have been doing is if I have products available I'll take the order via email or PM and handle outside of ebay. Generally I limit or will not take orders if something is not in stock. Lastly, doing resin on a small scale basis is not really a money making venture. For me, I just enjoy doing it (most times lol) and I enjoy being able to provide some parts to fellow model builders when I can. As some of you also know, at times I'll mail parts out free of charge. I do this simply because model building and modelers in general have provided me with nearly a lifetime of good times and good fun and I guess it is my way of giving back to something that has given me so much. Thanks for reading and thanks to those who have supported me and who may have purchased some parts from me in the past. Its truly appreciated. ~Mike -
Very nice! I like your backdrop also.

Some really Sweet turbos from Shucky
shucky replied to envious8420's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi Ben, my turbos are two piece, the new ones will be 3 piece. They are not available at this time though. I was working on a redesign last year and got sidetracked doing things on the house. I did start working on the largest version though a few weeks ago. Once it is done I will post a message in this forum. I plan on a re-do of the smaller turbo as well in the not so distant future. The units sold by thepartsbox are not mine.
