Glueing Tires to Rims
shucky replied to Olderisbetter's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use Devcon 2 part epoxy for almost everything. No fogging or reactions to different surfaces and it stays where you put it. Your model will be super strong afterwards also lol. -
Dave so much awesomeness here I almost cant take it lol! About how long is this in size? Such an amazing project.

Sad Sad Sad News: Our Harry Passed Away
shucky replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is very sad news. God speed Harry, you will be missed. -
I just wanted to update everyone that my experience has not been so great thus far. I placed an order on 1/27. I added a new item a couple days later which Jeremy had no problem adding to the existing order. He emailed me a few days later and gave me the impression that my order was being shipped. I heard nothing after that. I waited a month and still nothing so I emailed him again. He told me because I added an item to my order that it would mail out with the next batch of orders at the end of February, basically within a few days of this email exchange. He should not have given me the impression my order was being mailed 3-4 weks earlier if it was in fact not true. I waited until the last week of March and still have heard nothing. I never got his so called "email updates" not even once. So i emailed him about a week ago and asked if the order did in fact ship on 2/27. He said of course it did and he claimed that I replied to his "update" email basically answering my own question. Yet, he is referring to an email that I never received. Now we are in to April and still nothing. No update emails to speak of and no parts. I see others on his Facebook page receiving their orders but nothing for me. I emailed again last night and so far no response. I did resin for 2-3 years myself and know how difficult it can be with keeping up with orders and communications with the customers. This is exactly why I mainly sold only IN STOCK items through ebay and only took a few orders on the side. My customers got their parts within a few days, not months, and I kept my sanity by not always playing catch up. The shipping guidelines on his website are fairly clear and concise, but I do not believe he is meeting those timeframes he set for himself and what he informs to his customers. If he cannot satisfy orders in the time allowed and the timeframe he tells his customers he should revise his guidelines accordingly to prevent upsetting his clients. That is my opinion. Resin is a time consuming endeavor, and constantly taking orders and always being behind the 8 ball playing catch up is no fun at all. I do not care how nice his resin may be, if he is not truthful with the long wait times to his customers than he risks a shrinking client base. My order is well over $100 and I have no idea if and when I will ever get my parts. I may never order again based on this type of nonsense. To me the most upsetting part of this is his willingness to point towards his elaborate shipping guidelines on his website when asked a question. If he is going to reference that information he better be BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH certain he is following his own words to a "T." He isnt. Not at all, not in my instance. In almost 10 weeks I have received not a single "update" email unless I initiate contact first. If I am supposed to follow his guideline, so is he. If I ever get my parts I will update this thread.

1929 Model A Roadster ArtDeco/Coachbuilt/Streamliner -DONE!
shucky replied to Impalow's topic in WIP: Model Cars
One of the coolest and most innovative builds I've seen in a long while. So much awesomeness here! -
Thank you Tim! Great to hear.

EDIT - interesting, I clicked on the above link and it looks legit. Great news if true. Mike, I received that email this morning as well from "model motor cars" as I'm sure other customers of Scalehardware have also received. Has anyone ever heard of "model motor cars" before? Is this legit or did we get spammed? How will they restock SH products if Bob was the one making them and he closed and/or sold the business? Anyone have any more info?

Machined Aluminum Hemi Valve Covers 1/25
shucky replied to shucky's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi Todd, thank you! Shipped them at lunch! Thank you for your past purchases as well. I will hopefully be doing resin again by mid year. Thanks, Mike -
Hi guys, I had some machined hemi valve covers made in 1/25 scale for my own projects and had the shop run a bunch more for me. These are available on eBay from me right now. The example engine is an AMT 1/25 Hemi as reference. They have been cleaned up a little using scotch brite extra fine and are washed and cleaned as well. They will ship looking the same as in the photos. You may further polish them or even anodize them if you wished. If your interested find me on eBay (some of you know my user name already) or send me a message here. More valve covers and other items are in the works too. The dimensions are: L x W x H 22.60mm (.890in) x 9.50mm(.375in) x 4.95mm(.195in)

Chief I saw them on eBay a couple days ago and knew they had to be yours. Very sad.

Will there be some sort of side lip or skirt / ground effects added as I feel it will totally add to the overall look (if you do not mind some constructive input). Looks great so far!
-
Folks I heard from Jeremy a couple days ago. All is well. He is busy and orders are taking about 3 weeks to complete before shipping. He also had computer problems recently.
-
Im really digging the side profile. Looks great. Ambitious project and keep up the good work.

I tried contracting him this week but no replies. I did place an order today though and hope he comes through. His stuff looks A+

Old Name but looks like a new player in resin
shucky replied to 59-Desoto's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Ah yes, the "pro built" seller on eBay. Forgive me in advance, but why on earth would anyone spend hundreds of dollars ($1300 in this example) for models with virtually no detailing? I just do not understand, not my cup of tea I suppose. -
Erik good find! I just placed my order. Thanks for the tip!

Simply amazing work. I have no other words. Just wonderful stuff.

That looks absolutely fantastic! Super nice job. Great photos also.

I got this a couple years ago. Its by far the most brilliant car I've ever had, and I've had a lot of them. Love this thing and it impresses me every day even after 2 years of ownership.

Tim, haven't had a chance to go through this whole thread yet, but those T bolt clamps are the bomb! I've always wanted to try making those and you nailed it!! Great job on all the other scratch building you do also. Amazing stuff.
