  1. More updates tomorrow ....
  2. Never thought I'd be this excited for primer! Its been a long time coming! lol
  3. Some test fitting after reshapping the resin pieces.
  4. I also wanted to customize the Skyline a bit, and seeing as how I just picked up the Aoshima "Charasuka Works" kit, I thought I'd make some resin copies of the slanted single headlights, headlight covers, and front lip and then fit them to the Tamiya kit. I also really liked the oil cooler from the Tamiya kit and wanted to make copies of that too. Lastly, I made a new fan for the S20 since I do agree the kit piece is too chunky!
  5. Next up where the kit torsion bars that had to be removed and remade. All of this is ready for primer, assembly, etc but on hold until i get the chassis in primer and paint.
  6. Since I did this with the suspension, I had to make the spindles and brakes also. Had to narrow the steering arm as well.
  7. Hello everyone! It is hard to believe that I haven't updated this post in 2 years! As I have many projects going on at the same time, I alternate any time I get burned out from one to another. Anyways, much work has been put in to the Skyline so I thought I should keep this thread alive and update it. While I played around with wheel choices for a very long time (still do), it delayed moving forward with the front suspension until I narrowed down my choices. Basically, I had to move the front shocks inward about 4-5mm on the top and about 2-3mm on the lower in order for me to get the look I wanted. Typically those that lower this kit considerably have massive camber issues because they do not alter the shock mounting points and suspension geometry. I wanted a low down look with mild camber while keeping it realistic. I also still wanted to keep the ability to turn the wheels left or right. So lots of scratch building was in store ... These are the final version of the shocks and springs with mounting points moved inwards ...
  8. I recently picked up the Demon engine from Iceman on eBay and it is entirely 3D printed.
  9. Exactly, the company split and both still make parts. Diolex tires are very soft and USCP tires are quite firm. Both are exceptional quality and some of the finest resin I've ever seen.
  10. Hi, guess I haven't been here in a while. Yes I made those some years back. Let me know if any questions.
  11. Cool stuff as usual Mark. Turbos and piping look the business.
  12. These look really great! Nice job.
  13. That turned out great! Nice job!
  14. AFX really love the build so far. Look forward to starting mine. If you need those wheels cast in resin let me know. I have the kit so I will take a look at that wheel this weekend. Can easily make a bunch.
  15. Super cool and clean! Looks great!
  16. Been sorting some details in the engine compartment before laying primer. Also, in order to get the stance I wanted with the wheel/tire combo the stock strut/shocks wouldnt fit. Decided those also need to be scratch built. Here is the beginning of those. Hopefully I can make some progress this weekend.
  17. Hi John, I use a mix of Scale Hardware, RB Motion, and ProTech PE bolt heads. Not sure of the exact sizes, but can take a look when I get home.
  18. Wow great job! They look amazing. Fine detail work on the engine.
  19. That is super beautiful. Probably the nicest build of that kit I have ever seen. Outstanding!
  20. Really great job on both! Crisp and clean!
  21. These are stunningly beautiful.
  22. Agree with everyone else. I followed along for years and it was an amazing journey. The finished model is spectacular and I cant wait to see the other versions. Outstanding model and thank you for sharing.
  23. This is fantastic. Love what you’ve done so far.
  24. Erik thanks, it has Nissans new 3.0 twin turbo engine, a bit under rated at 400 hp. I fell in love with it when I saw it in person. Back seat is for groceries only, too small for humans but I dont mind. Probably the most amazing paint Ive seen on a factory vehicle. Very happy with it so far.
