Very nice Clint, looks like you have some talent there!

1958 and '59 saw the most over-styled cars that ever turned a wheel. Even the Rambler had fins then! This car taken by it self and viewed from our comfortable year of 2006, looks a little like a bad Barris Custom job from the late 60's, but if you insert it into that crazy era of excesses it blends in just fine. When viewed in context, the styling alone is pretty restrained, containing front and rear designs which incorporate similar elements all tied together by a character line running front to rear very nicely. This cannot be said of all the cars of this era when designers threw every styling element then known to man in an effort to out-glamorize the competition. I would say that this car rates pretty highly for the time period. Respectfully submitted, Jairus

Looks kind of cool without the body on too.... Wonder if a model could be built by leaving the body off and just showing off the structure and simply fiberglass panels mixed with aluminum structure for styling? Hmmmmmm

Anyone looking for a CARS avatar?
Jairus replied to Mr. Can Am Garage's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would assign "Tow-mater" to Gregg.... I guess I would probably be "Fillmore"... love Hendrix too. 8) Ismael... would probably be the "Michael Schumacher Ferrari" because there were no 'Vetts. Tim would be "Mack"... duh! James Warkentin is of course "Fred"! More later.. -
Steamboy, That is just too cool for words! I love Can-Am stuff and have built that kit so I can recognize the amount of work that went into a piece such as this. Great find! Ahhhh.... Now, could you please post your full name, first and last, in the signature box found in the profile section of this board? That is one of the few rules here at MCM forums. Thanks! 8)

All right Gang! Since I am an automotive artist… I thought we needed a column for “Auto Artâ€! This forum section will be for posting cool car art that you your self have drawn or someone elses art piece that you currently own. Please do NOT post links to other person’s art, or art found on other web sites! I cannot stress this enough. I do not want to hear of any cease and desist letters, notes or emails received saying that we have art posted on this forum without the owner’s permission! Any art posted like that will be removed and the poster suspended for a time to be decided by the moderators. Likewise, I do not want to find out that art posted here was downloaded and used else where without the owner’s prior permission! Okay? I will get this started with a timely piece that I did for the 2004 MCM calendar. Enjoy! This piece was created for a Galaxie Ltd. ad run in the pages of MCM. Sketchpad image used in MCM issue #114

WELCOME ABOARD Mike! Thank you very much for following the rules and.... Please, enjoy your self here at MCM Forums!!! -
It would probably look just like that! Very nice build and I love the choice of Pegasus wheels too.... So do something different... throw in a '69 Z motor, a carburetor 327 with the correct air cleaner. Very different! :?

And, that's the name your mother gave you huh? "Mercman? The name, first and last, as shown on your drivers license is pretty much what we are asking for dude. It's not that difficult, really! -

Jairus replied to Hot_Rod_Bob's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Records, discs, wax, albums, LP's... it's all vinyl to me! The best way to listen to "Zoso" or "Animals" or "Sgt Pepper" or "Pet Sounds" as far as I am concerned!! (I can do this alllll dayyyyy! ) -
Air Compressor Question
Jairus replied to Wildrice's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bobby, There are others who have build a compressor for airbrushing using an old refrigerator compressor. I don't know what is needed personally but I do know that there are other modelers who use this method. The cost is very low except that there will not be a tank... unless I am very wrong. Hopefully someone out there can help and post a link... anybody? :? -

Air Compressor Question
Jairus replied to Wildrice's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bobby, I started out with a tank less system as well in the beginning. Of course my airbrushing was more for illustration than painting models. Anyway, I graduated to a 22-gallon 220volt compressor and I was hooked in a big way! The reason is that I can pump up the tank and paint for a long time... days even, without having to fire up the noisy compressor again. I can listen to music and paint to my hearts content for a long time before having to fill the tank. I am on my second system. The compressor and tank this time is in the garage while I have the air piped into my studio via a 1/2-inch hard line. It's a good system, but one you have to be ready to pay at least a hundred bucks for a nice Craftsman compressor. Unless you watch the sales flyers that is.... :-) -
I think the torque was better but they didn't rev as high.....

I use maybe 4 or 5 different types of glue on any of my models... oh, yes, solder as well!!!

Looks like tons of fun and a very different project from the normal Miguel. Please keep us informed as to the progress! (8 horse power... that's funny, I don't care who you are....)
