Hi Kane, first off thanks for the kind comment. 2nd I'm sorry it took me alittle while to reply back here to your question. 3rd I asked my friend Mark about the rims and where he got them at.. he said he got most of his stuff from KFS and also the rims. I hope that info helps you out with your project as well. I would also love to see the project of yours if you like to share some photos. -

How to Make Body Panels
MoparWoman Jamie replied to MoparWoman Jamie's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Okay, let me give this a try, my system with uploading tonight doesn't want to work.. so I will use afew photos that I have uploaded afew days back to give you all the basic idea until I can get things here iron out. First you start out with a very thin piece of metal of some short, any kind that you are use to working with and that can be bent and form by hand. I like to use alumin cake pan so that is how I will discrib my stuff, you will get the general idea. I cut a piece of alum cake pan bigger then the panel area is. I then lay the piece down on the area of the model shell I want to make the panel for on or to replicate the panel. I do my best to fold a small portion of one edge to act as a hanger arm to attach to the model shell from under side the side. Now say your doing the tail end just notch the very small corner of the alum piece so you an fold the piece around the tail area and part of the side portion of the tail panel. Once you have the piece in place and bent under the side panel. Take your hand and start rubbing back and forth starting at the bottom and working your way up the side panel getting all the indention's that the shell has. When you finish, you should have a panel something like this or maybe even better as this one ripped on me. All you need is sizzers to cut the alum or what something to cut the stuff your using to make the panel out of. This idea will or would be great for you dio guys that likes to build garages and smashed up cars with bent car panels. This will even work on truck models as well. -
Okay, since I posted in the working bench area a project I been working with and making body panels for, I was asked nicely to make a tutorial on how I make my body panels. I will update this thread soon with a how to on how I do my panel making, I will even include photos.

Here is a update, still working on this one yet.. Adding alittle more detail -
Oh okay then, Ye I built 1 model from the F&F kit as the F&F car, no good detail there in that kit but for an improve shell. I built afew other AMT General Lee's since 1997 myself and that is what got me about the interior tub to this one. I would love to see the Ben Jones autograph you have if you like to post a photo I wouldn't mind, I have not one time yet ment him in person, would love to someday. A friend of mine got me his autograph about 10 years when he was at a fairground event and I couldn't make it to the event.

Now time came to get some heat going and some soldier to flow Well, my dang micro torch decided it would act up tonight and not work right at all, so since I had spare parts on the one work bench I decided to make a homemade micro blow torch until I can get mine working right and until I can get anew one. So I made this little micro torch and it works very good too! The other torch wasn't heating the brass up right or melting the soldier right either. The one does. Feedback about the project is always welcome. -
