  8. Hello.......this build started with a Revell 49 Mercury kit.......I wanted to make a 2 n`1 conversion kit : a Convertible and "Bubble Top"...... the model is called "Mercury Rising"........I cut off the roof and I made a few modification`s.......I used a Flathead engine from the Revell 37 Ford pick-up kit........I painted the body Alclad......the nose was airbrushed with Tamiya clear blue ,red, orange and yellow for a burnt effect...... and I stripped all the chrome and painted it Alclad.......interior is Dupont "Jarrett" red......I used bare-metal foil and flocking.... JPS wheels......and "Pro Tech": t`fittings, rubber fuel line, detailing wire, gauges, spark plug wires, wire looms and nut and bolt ends.......if you would like to see how I built this model......please look in "Work Bench" section......thank`s for looking.

  18. Hello.......I got the radiator in and finished the engine plumbing......I got the seat`s and dash and console installed.......grill, headlight`s and taillight`s installed.........I will primer and Alclad the hood, door`s , trunk, windshield ,bumpers, side pipes ,and bubble top today........thank`s for looking.
  19. Chris.......thank you for the kind comment`s......I like to airbrush the Alclad with about 30- 35 PSI.......I use a single action Paasche with a # 5 tip......I like to alclad when the temperature is cool not to hot .......I mist the alclad on with about 4 coats.......when done it will have a slight dusty look but with a clean soft cloth ......you can gently wipe down and have a nice smooth shinny look......hope that help`s.
  20. Harry.......Alclad will pick up fingerprints really easy.......especially if your fingers are oily .........Alclad will rub off......I heard that you can clear coat over Alclad but,I have no idea what they use.......I am very careful when handling the Alclad painted model.......I have had some areas where the Alclad has rubbed off......but,I just mask off the area and re-airbrush the area ......it look`s just as good as new.......thank`s Brad.......I airbrushed the Tamiya clear paint`s over the Alclad......I`m sure you can airbrush over the Aclad......as long as you test the paint over a test piece of painted Alclad..........thank`s
