  1. Race cars don't have clearcoats over decals. If you are done rubbing out your paint, apply your decals, wait a few hours and then you can wax the car and decals for that matter.
  2. Just in case you can't wait, here is a little preview on the link below, you want to do business with Norm, he is the nicest guy you will ever know, not to mention the best resin products in the world!!! http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/1/2/1/after-market-source/replicasminiatureof/
  3. Very cool, happy to see another forum member here building one, I am loving mine also!! Good luck with yours and keep us posted, it's coming out phenomenal!!!!
  4. Hey Ron!! It will be an honor my friend!! Of course, mine has a long way to go, I just decided to complete the body first, couldn't wait to see those decals in place!! I will still bring it in though so you can check it out and tell me what I have done wrong!!
  5. Here are some photos with the decals in place, I love this kit!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  6. Okay guys, a few pictures and info on the progress of my Hurst Olds!!! I polished the paint and started adding the decals on this thing. I also foiled the body and believe it guys, it has a lot of detail to foil. Carefully done, it really brings out a nice level of detail among the sea of white!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki A little bit of "photography cheating" to expose the gloss of the paintjob. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Did all the foiling around the wheel wells, side marker lights w/ Tamiya clear red/orange paints and the rest of the body!!! Cwest RX7

    Gorgeous!!!
  11. Once again you have proved that not everything that shines is beautiful!!!
  12. You are a master bro!!!!
  13. It's unreal how realistic your stuff looks! Always enjoy your work! Starliner is cool also!
  14. Great! Hey, where did you get the tires from? They look very good and definitely better than the ones in the kit!!!
  15. Ron, there is an additional separate piece for the center of the chromed grill, like a dummy, I scraped it off without knowing this. You should be okay though, it will cover the scraped part anyways!! You see, you can't believe everything I say....
  16. Okay guys! I am now officially a dummy!!! Didn't know about the center piece of the grill. Kevin, thanks for pointing that out, no need to apologize, on the contrary, thanks! No harm done, this piece will be covered by this piece, Huh, I just repeated myself You guys know what I mean...
  17. I don't know guys, I have had success using Alclad specially because I use it on small parts, when it comes to bumpers or anything bigger, I don't think there is anything out there that would do the job as well as the regular method of chroming. The base coat really has a lot to do with the effect on the part when it's alcladed, I have always used Testor's Gloss Black without any issues. Lately, what I have been doing is shooting the Alclad when my paint is tacky, not dry like a lot of people do. I am sure there are a lot of ways to do this, I have success doing it this way.
  18. The Martha Stewart section has her flocking and embossing powders, they are a little pricey so the coupons really help. Thanks a lot....
  19. Hey Bob!! I think you would be the perfect candidate for this job!! Have you thought about it?
  20. I love these little antique tuner bodies, always a lot of possibilities to do something special and unique. I did an old pro stock corolla using a Baretta pro stock chassis about 6 years ago!! Hosted on Fotki I am planning on purchasing one of these and even going as far as putting a Rotary engine in it, saw a lot of them in Puerto Rico when I was growing up!! Good luck with this one and keep us posted please!!!
  21. Cool build Dale!!!
  22. Very useful site my friend! Thank you very much!
  23. So this was the reason he kept invitng me to these "basement" meetings...
  24. Great stuff, nothing beats the little details!!!
  25. Thanks Ron, you are the reason why I am doing this model when you brought yours to the meeting, like I told you, I just had to do it. Let me know about the tires, I did talk to Norm to see if he has anything good in resin for this kit and he will be bringing an assortment of them for me to choose. Keep us posted on your progress also, this is a great kit!!!
