Okay guys, I have decided to share this page again. Fotki has been having some bad issues with their photos lately and a lot of them have dissapeared from my account, something about moving their servers to another location? Anyway, it will be quite some time before they fix these issues. In the meantime, I will again share the tutorial I wrote for the magazine but this time I will not be using any albums for this, these will come straight from my PC, hopefully you guys can use the info.

Hosted on Fotki I have 4 coats of pearl white on this photo which I took before adding the clear. It was shot straight onto white primer. You have to make sure to have enough coats for even coverage. This was shot straight out of the can, I did not use an airbrush. I airbrushed Mr. Color white primer and made sure it was very smooth. Mr. Color primer dries white, not yellowish like some other white primers. You can definitely use a white base by using paint if you want and it will help, I didn't need it in this case. Sounds to me like you are not adding enough coats on your body.....

Hosted on Fotki Thanks Ed, I used Testor's Metalizer Titanium for the lower parts of the kit with two light coats of clear for a slight shine.

Very cool, one of the kits I want to put together one day!!!

Thank you guys! There are 5 coats of clear and 2 hours of wetsanding, polishing and waxing....

You are right and it's very challenging to photograph the white colors, I had to play a bit with the light and the angles in order to make it look presentable.....

Looks like I successfully did this but it might be the last time I try it. Anyway, the paint is Tamiya Pearl White with Testor's Wet Look clear The model is 100% out of box, no additions or alterations were done to it. It is based on the Aoshima GT-R Egoist.....

Let's hope this picture turns out well, I am trying something new from my tablet. In case it doesn't for some reasons show up, I will leave it for tomorrow....

I've heard of some of the guys in my club using this technique but I still have not seen their work in person.

Thank you guys. Paint is Testors Light Blue enamel from the small bottles but I added at least 2 more bottles of white to lighten it more and simulate the real car. After this I cleared it with Testors Wet Look Clear.
