can't really say. didn't do a lot of listening to Buffalo Springfield. didn't Stills do most of the lead singing for them? I don't know, just didn't like his voice, I do have "cinnamon girl" on 45 though. so I guess he can't be all bad.

Box art and your decision?
tubbs replied to Petetrucker07's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
for me, I can pass on a kit with some nasty box art because down the shelf is another kit I would like to have that the box art just looks cooler. so you pass on one to get another because I never go in a store to buy a specific kit. I always have a few in mind and the box art is the deciding factor. at least for me, the box are dictates which one I buy. -
I may jump in this. have had an idea for a while and this would be a great place to show it off. if I can get some pictures up on this site, (I am not computer literate at all no mater how many times it's explained). have a ton of projects ahead of this one. we will see. looks like fun and great conversation.

I still play them that way too Ed, just not Neil Young stuff unless he is with Crosby, Stills and Nash. never did like that whiny voice.

Extended Ford Econoline van
tubbs replied to crazyjim's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
so, are there any other memories besides good ones when you are talking the 80's and vans? -
hey Jason, just saw this build. any other progress? i prefer keeping Ford motors in Ford cars, but if in the 1:1 world, if this car sees any hard core racing on the streets, it's a lot less expensive to fix a Chevy than a Ford. i will be watching the progress. for your header dilemma, you may be able to get block hugging headers for it. the exit point may be directly over the front suspension, don't know. just a thought. a useless side note. I have one on the bench I am doing, have too many hours in the chassis (for whats done to it) and the body. went a little different and took the side trim off. i am using the 5.4-liter V-8 with intercooled supercharger from a 2010 Mustang Shelby GT 500. i also put the front part of the Mustang frame under it. i sanded the you-know-what out of the shock towers to make that motor fit.

another killer build Tyrone. you really do nice clean work. thanks for being so informative on how you do things. that being said, where do you get your nitrous bottles from? (I know you use Slixx decals) -
nice older build. one of my favorite kits and I am a big fan of pro street. you did it justice.

great start. going to be a real nice buld. me, nope, not a fan of the stripe, or the wheels. that's OK, i appreciate seeing something that i normally would not build. mine would be tubbed and all kinds of motor sticking thru the hood and i am sure someone would wonder why i built it that way.... cause i wanted to. keep going, it's looking good.

Jim, growing up in the 70's and 80', i remember these vans at the autorama's and gracing the pages of magazines. you hit this one out of the park! just enough detail and paint, love the rear door. the boats a great touch also. really brings back some memories. -
god looking build. nice to see these darts built. it's wonderful going thru life a quarter mile at a time. what silver did you use? looks real nice. hard to get silver right.

Car Magazines... How Can I Not?
tubbs replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use the internet often for many searches. but there is nothing like sitting down with a Super Stock and drag Illustrated from 1968, or 1001 Van Ideas, or Hot Rod, or a vast array of off the wall magazines, even some old Model Car Magazines. my 10,000+ magazine collection takes up 2/3'ds the space in my room and the models will go before the magazines. just this guys humble opinion. -
thats all, you say? this is what i finished in 2014. . . . . . aren,t those great? nise bunch of 2014 builds you have there. like them all.

love this band. Clapton had dubbed them the origionators of heavy metal. love their videos. saw them on upbeat, remeber that show. played my first ever air guitar to their summertime blues. do you guys remember bubblepuppy?

here is a tough one. this is off of one of the greatest albums ever from the 80's in my opinion. there were 2 big hits off this album. the base player, who was also the lead singer has since passed. down from the glen came the marching men, with their shields and their swords. to fight the fight, they believe to be right overthrow the overlord

well i'm a bum in the sun and i'm having fun and i know you know you got no special plans.

blue cheer's version is killer. i am glad this thread has carried on thru thr holidays. sad to say but i get on this site much more at work than i do at home so i have been a no show for much of the holidays. so, i posted this a month or so ago, twice with different lyrics and it still got by all of you, so here goes one more chance..... she was smiling thru the tears for a hundred and fifty years just lickin her lips and helping me along. you have to be a little off the tracks to enjoy this guys music. after his death Nazareth picked up the lead guitarest for a few albums-
