both are looking great!! for your first pro street chassis, you are doing a great job so far. looks like everything is straight. just make sure that joint is strong. nothing worse than getting close to the end and having that joint between the chassis halves separate.
-
beautiful! ten times what everyone else said too. is there an "in progress" thread on this? would love to see it.

I have pictures and the article on that. I will see what I can do. I am not very computer savvy. and on that hemi art kit, the cross ram is wrong. one side is higher than the other. you can get a cross ram out of the AMY road runner, super bee or GTX. if you cant find one, send me a PM, I have plenty. a quick search came up with a little more info and a shot of the interior about half way down. remember, these cars were given to S and M in late 67 for the 68 campaign. I believe the article references that.

that car as well as the Camaro pictured run. and surprise, they are both built by the same gentleman. there is a facebook page, "pro street era" where he posts. if you goggle "blown-mafia" you will get his personal facebook page along with other stuff. I heard he built that car for his daughter. now, I am a very avid pro street fan as well as blower cars, but even I think that is a bit too far. the video I have seen of this car looks like a monstrosity of an engine followed by a very cool pro street mustang.

this takes a little work, but what I have done in the past is go to hobby lobby, michaels, pat catans... get yourself some of those googily eyes that you see on stuffed animals, you can get a pack of different sizes for a few bucks. you drill the chrome headlight out, find the right size googily eye, cur the flat part off, keep the clear part. glue it in place IN BACK of the light. this will be the part behind the lense. paint it silver, then go to your parts box and find some clear plastic head light lenses, glue them in place and voilà!!! clear head lamps. sorry, I do not have any picts of the few that I did. it will take some pracrice. I have cut out a little more plastic than I should have a few times. good thing I had extra grills.

very nice build Walter, love the 1:1 also. my first muscle car was also a 68 runner I picked up after graduation in 78. had a grenaded 383 4 speed that i paid $400 for. we limped it home and replaced it with a 440. oh, those were the days. getting back to your build and the Keith Marked decals. i don't see your pie tin air cleaner, so i was wondering, I have a set of 68-70 road runner Keith Marks decals. it does not have the "383 road runner" pie tin nor the rear tail panel decal on it. is there a separate 1968 runner decal set? did you sand down the rear tail lights to make everything even? sorry for the late questions and conversation. haven't been here for a while and just saw the post. ps - my dream car is an A12 runner. would love to follow your build. waaaay back in 1988, sold a 69 hemi runner for the chance to buy a green ex/black int 440 6 bbl runner, the deal fell thru and i ended up getting my pro street runner, big financial loss, but happy with the pro street car.

really nice work. big mopar fan. like the directions so far, curious to see what you do with the motor. is that the revel kit (1/24 or a resin body?
-
thanks Kevin, I am not pulling the plug just yet. we had some good conversations and I know life gets in the way fo model building all the time. thanks again for the heads up.
-
me too, I didn't send him much, 2 or 3 sets of rims. hmmmm, this could be the first time I don't get a package back.
-
Mr Buick (Colby Moritz), has not been on for a few weeks. anyone talk to him lately?
-
thanks Steve. really nice jog on that stripe. I thought it came out of the kit that way. a viper motor would fit in there real nice, Steve....and you need to get that 65 out again... I know.. sorry for drifting the thread. id that a resin body? sorry.
-
looking good Steve. like that stripe. is that one in the Dirty Donn kit? also, had reserves about the shaker, once done and painted, it looks really nice. like the side by side shot. .. and what's the deal with the 65 in the background?

good job, see, opened my mouth when you knew exactly what was going on. I have a few of those chassis, maybe I will look into it. keep us posted. when I start mine, I will post up, a few too many projects ahead of it. 56, only age better is any number less than 56. you weren't born in November, where you?- 28 replies

hey!! watch it. I'm only 56. just getting to the prime of my life. that is looking really cool. I am a bet old school when it comes to bodies, instead of "bowing" the body. trim the wheel wells to match the curve of the body and maybe cut down the rear axle to fit those meats in or cut any flange that stops the rear wheel from sliding over the axle. this will let the tire slide further down the axle to fit inside the body properly. absolutely love that dual plug hemi in there.- 28 replies

great stuff as usual Joe. killer details. haven't been here in a while to look, but it would be very helpful is someone would do a small tutorial on the electronics that go in these cars. would help a lot. and as for the color, gunmetal gray on top and black sides with a black scoop.... just saying.

really nice build. gotta love them mopars!!
-
looking good James. just beautiful. well, I wouldn't travel 100 miles on a cold night.
-
as usual, nice work James. will be another killer build. missed your mug at the meeting, hope you are getting the concrete poured in this nasty weather. do you have plans on making the next one, I will bring the 59?
-
hehe... he said "strokes"!! I agree 100% bought a 69 runner way back. had slapper bars on it. the only condition was that he took those silly things off before I came to pick it up. great looking build Fred as always.

I have a Ford hemi from Ross Gibson, I would like to convert it to a Semi Hemi motor. are the heads the only difference on these motors and are they interchangeable? I only have the ford engine, if they are swappable, I may be looking for the semi hemi heads. I realize that may be a tall task.

well, I'd say if that is the hood you have, there is no problem using it. I don't thin I have ever seen a 69 runner/GTX with a 68 hood. I know from the factory that the air grabber was an option (standard on the hemi). if you got that, the slats o the top were perforated to let the air in and they were painted orange. if you did not get the air grabber, you had ribbed metal inserts that were panted a flat or satin black. they did introduce the 69 1/2 440+6 road runner mid year and that had a fiberglass lift-off hood. also remember that the 68 hemi models had the big round chrome air cleaner and the 383's had a small round black air cleaner. no air grabber was available in 68. in 69, they went to the orange oval air cleaners but still had the small black round ones for the non air grabber cars. sorry for the babble.... build on!! and you will love that paint stand. just make sure it is on tight to the base. I had it slip off a few times....

looking good Steve. looks like that t-bird chassis didn't take too much modification, did it. gonna be another killer build buddy.

really nice build. turned out clean. nice carb, where is it from, may I ask? and about those tail lights, missing link has ones that are correct. they are all red, have to do some bare metal foiling on them, but they look 100 times better than the kit ones. again, real nice build.
