  8. Hi guys/gals.........yesterday a friend was cleaning his attic and found something he thought i might like so he brought it over and gave it to me for a favor i did for him years ago.......an opened, unbuilt Budweiser semi trailer kit.....the thing is mint but ill be willing to bet the decals are dried-up by now but who cares! made a great Christmas gift for me.........mark
  9. Hi Ace...........welcome back to the hobby, ect. nice Z28 . my brother had a 92 RS 25th anniversary, boy that thing could run! im not a tuner builder but i believe theres a lot of wheels available in the aftermarket feild and lots of kits that include big custom wild wheels. i dont think anything i have has any but i will look......but can make you any promises. if i do i will get back to you..........mark
  10. Hi carostar.............ive had an idea rolling around in my head for a few years now of a build i want to do,late 60s suburban to put in front of a trailer for a diorama i want to build. been gathering parts for it for awhile now, i know someone makes a resin kit of this but its beyond my budget so ill have to try to make my own. the travelall i wouldnt know what parts to start with to try to scratch build one.........but would like to. the shape they have is quite unique and cant think of anything with parts even close to its shape..............would be cool though. mark
  11. Hi Dave........hey, thanks for the tips! im sure it will help me make mine better.................mark
  12. Hi Ernie, hope you get to feeling better, those are cool! ,i can barely remember kits that had stuff like that in them.....i think i use to get some from the old auto world ? they always had those nice johan kits too. if you need anything please let me know. god bless. mark
  13. Hi cargostar, i zipped it , you have probably talked to my brother on occasions but its been years ago.......he said it was cool.....hes right! now he has some old cars that hes having title problems with here in IL. as i will with my inherited one someday. i hate IL. . i really do wish they would produce a travelall, id pull my own teeth to get one and i think others would as well, it would just take me longer to pull those teeth. anyway cool trucks...........mark
  14. Hey cargostar.......that stretched rescue unit is too cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love that one! its just awesome ..............mark
  15. Hi Chuckyr, nice photos..........beautiful batch of trucks! someone needs to make them for us to build...........mark
  16. Hi Dave, that is one awesome collection you have there!!!!! years ago my brother had an old 48 International KB2 pickup with the knox bed. we fixed her up a little bit and he drove it around for a while then sold it a few years back....it was red with a red primed bed,old girl was in pretty good shape.....i hated to see him sell it. had the old triple diamond engine, thing ran great. ive always loved the IH stuff, i have a very poorly built IH farm tractor model that i hope to find the parts to repair someday.....i think they must have used 2 tubes of glue on her, gives you an idea on the work i got cut-out for me on that one. ive been to Fort Madison many times.....is your place the scout connection? my brother has been there before but i havent. he said it was a cool place. thanks mark
  17. hey guys, we have a hobby lobby that rarely gets anything new other than the same stuff thats restocked over and over. we also have a so called hobby shop that has kits with the box art faded from sitting on the shelves for the past 5 or 8 years......hobby lobby came to town and it was great at first.....they were cheap and had new goodies.....their prices have doubled now to e bay level. not the best town to live in if your a builder or a collector. i get mine from others that love the hobby as i do and rarely off e bay when i can afford them......mark
  18. Hi Jim, thanks ! im still in the darkage so to speak....i still use rattle cans with decent results usually. need to upgrade to an air brush someday, then learn all over again. ive painted a few real cars in the past but models are a little bit different. thanks again! mark
  19. Hi Grasor, welcome! these guys are the best! they will offer assistance and advise whenever possible. jims right.....if you paint with enamels you may not need to prime the body first, but if you paint with a lacquer type paint you will need to prime the body first to keep the paint from reacting with the plastic.....after removing the paint on it now as jim suggested if you see any damage ( etching on the body ) you can lightly sand it with a light grade sand paper untill smooth again thin prime the body sand very lightly untill smooth again. repeat if necessary untill your happy with the results. with primer on all of body parts you can paint again.........mark
  20. Hi oldschool, the dashboard decal was the one that did work the best for us, the ones for the door went on ok but fell off after drying? dont understand why....ive never had a problem with any monogram decals before.....i didnt leave the first set in too long ,possibly 15/20 seconds......they seem very thin.....my brother had same problem with his? he also built the reissue of the taxi with no problems.....its got me stumped.
  21. Hi lownslow, very sweet paint! ive never built a lowrider before but it makes me want to...................great job!!!!!!!
  22. Hi Spyder, Thanks for the info....i got on revells site and sent a message about it......i hope their all not like that? the decals make the model in a way. will have to see what happens now? thanks loads.mark
  23. my brother and i have the reissue of the old rommels rod kit........his is now built however the decals have crinkled-up in the water and the ones that didnt wouldnt stick to the unpainted model.....just figured i let you all know....has anyone else had this problem with this kit? mark
