  1. This is my '89 Firebird TA GTA painted with Testors Classic White Lacquer with a Model Master Dark Tan interior. The center console was modified for an automatic transmission and shifter as it was set up for a manual transmission. The Buick Turbo V6 was cleaned and rewired and the transmission was repainted with Model Master Aluminium Metalizer.
  2. Thanks Eric and D Ryberg!
  3. Thank you Jim N!
  4. Thanks Curtis! I started reassembling the Firebird today. More to come...
  5. The body is in the stripper and I'll start over again with a clean body, and Model Master primer and paint. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!
  6. Well, my bad painting luck has returned! The paint cracked on top of the primer. I think I'll strip the paint and start all over again with the same brand primer and paint. This is the chassis and it is supposed to be semi-gloss black and it looks like gloss black. This is enamel paint, so I'll have to clear coat it with Acryl Semi-Gloss Clear. More to come...
  7. Thanks Scott! It's always nice to find something that reminds us of our past. Yesyerday, I spent some time on the Firebird GTA by reassembling the chassis. The interior is done with the revised center console. and repainted interior. The body has been repainted and reassembled. More to come...
  8. I spent some time on the Transit yesterday at my "Play Date" with some of my fellow Club members. I got the seats painted and dash decaled and painted and I glued the floor pan onto the chassis. I need to do some touchups on the seats and on the interior pan. More to come...
  9. Thank you Jeremy and Doug! Doug, you can try contacting Steven Zimmerman through his Facebook page.
  10. Thank you Gene!
  11. Thank you Adam!
  12. I just got the last of the parts out of the Easy-Off Oven Cleaner and gave them a good washing with a scrub brush and Dawn Dish Detergent. The nose. The rear view mirrors. The transmission pan which was chrome plated. When this is dry, I'll give a squirt of primer and then a good dosing of Model Master Classic White Lacquer and the transmission pan a good coating of Model Master Aluminium Metalizer. More to come...
  13. Thank you, Thomas!
  14. Try pushing the pen up and down on its tip intil the chrome ink starts coming out. Do this on a piece of paper towel. I found this out with my Molotow 1mm pen.
  15. Last night, I sat down with a circle templet, a mechanical pencil and a piece of sheet styrene and drew out four circles at 9/64 inch diameter. I cut them out with a chisel point knife, glued them to the wheel openings and painted them with Model Master Aluminium Metalizer and a brush. Easy and done! More to come...
  16. Thanks Vince, Andre and Ismael! What you see here is a hole cut into the console for an automatic shifter. The kit is set up for a manual shifter and the engine has a automatic transmission attached to it. I cut out a rectangle piece of styrene for the shifter plate. The shifter plate is nearly complete and it just needs to painted, decaled and installed. Here's the completed shifter plate installed in the center console. More to come...
  17. I decided to work on assembling the chassis this afternoon. Fairly easy to put together and some parts didn't need glue. I happen to like the wheels better without the wheel covers, so now I have to find something to use as a wheelcap in the center of the wheel. More to come...
  18. Thank you Vince! I have left this in the paintbooth to really dry good, then I'll start detailing and rebuilding it.
  19. There is something I truly like about this kit. Must be the subject matter as I now want to get other versions of this kit. And, build them with right-hand drive! Plus, I want to get the Range Rover Police car. And, I still can't get over the size of the kit box! It's huge for a curbside! I have built a couple of vans over the years, but I have never been as excited about building one like I am with this kit! This body is nicely molded, but has a couple of small issues with it. There is a small sink hole on the right rear of the body. A couple of small mold lines under the windshield which are now gone. And, three ejector pin marks near the windshield inside the body. Once these are taken care of, I'll wash the body and get it into a coat of primer. More to come...
  20. Thank you guys! This Grand Cherokee practically built itself! I guess not having to paint a body really helps.
