  1. Thanks Robert! Exposed or not, those two better looking carbs would have sat under a large air cleaner and not be seen. It is not often I build a model with an exposed engine and little air cleaners on top of nice looking carbs.
  2. Thanks guys! The color has gotten darker since I have added two more wetter coats of paint.
  3. Paint was sprayin' this afternoon! I got the body and hood painted with Dupli-Color Emerald Green Metallic. This is the first mist and medium coats of paint. The interior has been painted and the dash and console are waiting for detailing. I painted the chassis, transmission and wheels and wheelbacks. The chassis will need to be detailed. More Buick to come...
  4. Gave the Riviera a bath yesterday and I let everything dry in the paintbooth overnight. This morning, I gave the Riviera a good coating of Tamiya Light Grey Surface Primer. I'll let this dry for a bit and give the body and hood another good coating of primer in prep for the Dupli-Color Emerald Green Metallic. More Buick to come...
  5. Thank you Christopher, Oliver and Larry!
  6. I built the Revell '62 Impala as a 409 powered car. Looking forward to more of yours.
  7. I have finished my Foose '67 Dodge Coronet and it is posted in Under Glass. I would like to thank all those who have viewed and commented on my WIP.
  8. This is my Foose '67 Dodge Coronet painted with Dupli-Color Forest Green Pearl with a Tamiya Gloss Black roof and Rust-oleum 2X Semi Gloss Black interior with scratch-built bench seat, wired 426 Hemi with TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission, flat hood, some R/T logos removed and a lowered front suspension.
  9. I went to the burial for Barry today at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetary in Winchendon, Ma. this morning. A nice and simple ceremony for Barry. I am really going to miss him. He's now in Heaven and I hope Del Paone has found him and they are building some awesome models together...
  10. Looks great Tony! Excellent!
  11. Thanks Jeff and David!
  12. I have known Barry for about ten years since I joined the Classic Plastic Model Club. His passing was a great shock to me and his illness came on very quickly. I have always enjoyed the Get-Togethers and Play Dates at his house. He was always ready and willing to tell you of a process or technique that he knew or show you his models and how he built them. I am going to miss him very, very much! He was a good friend!
  13. Thanks Curt! I am starting to really like this Dodge!
  14. A mockkup to check my progress and the stance. Lowering the front suspension made all the difference! More Foose Coronet to come...
  15. I have replaced the kit carburetors with a pair from my parts box. These are much better looking than the two lumps from kit. More Riviera to come...
  16. Thank you Michael! I don't like the complexity or the hazards of two part clears. I prefer hobby clears. Tamiya clears with Tamiya paints and Testors clears with Testors paint. I find that Testors clears are hotter than Tamiya clears. But, always use what you feel comfortable with and enjoy using it.
  17. I got the Foose Coronet into three coats of Tamiya TS-13 Gloss Clear. More Foose Coronet to come...
  18. Even I can't post any pictures to my thread. Can somebody fix the glitch in this system, please!
  19. I have finished the engine at this point minus the air cleaner and painting the transmission. More Riviera to come...
  20. Thank you guys!
  21. Looks great Steve!
  22. Steve, I know you were only responding to my reply. I am aware of these PE sets, but I just can't justify to cost of purchasing them just to get three pieces of PE. The '70 GSX PE set is 1/24 scale and the '66 Riviera PE set is 1/25 scale. My plan is to build this Riviera mostly out-of-box with the exception of a wired engine and wheels from the AMT '67 Riviera. Thank you Steve!
  23. Thanks guys! I was going to post an entire diatribe about the car and this kit, but I changed my mind. Probably for the better. Basically, this kit is not a Riviera GS. But, I see it as one since everything that made a Riviera GS is hidden under the body. To you it may not be a Rivera GS, but to me, it is.
  24. Based on my research, this model is a Riviera GS and not the standard Riviera. I suspected that this model was a GS since it came with the dual carb setup and was missing the side vents between the door edge and the rear wheel arches. Too bad AMT never saw fit to call this model a GS like they should have. This is also very old tooling since the chassis also includes the exhaust system and most of the front and rear suspension. I got the engine mostly assembled and I drilled out the distributor cap for ignition wires which were superglued into place. I may have to find a piece of wire here in the shop to make plug boots from. More Riviera to come...
  25. Thank you David! My only wish for this kit is that it should have been a GS version. Dual quads tells me that it should have been a GS.
