Thanks for following progress so far guys, hopefully in the next day or two I will have an update to post pics of.

I'll be using the kit glass still,as it stretches far enough around to the original quarter vent window position to fill the new shape,it will just need some sanding to follow the rake of the new posts.

Great looking build so far..look forward to seeing the foil applied.

If Im still enthused after the bodywork and find it needs more detail then yes, I have a Buick engine from the AMT 40 Ford that I have put aside which I will use...since Ive alrady opened the bonnet it may happen lol.

Thanks for the interest so far guys...Ive made some progress here so I thought Id share where im at. I cut out the 57 bonnet/hood and used a 55 Chev bonnet for its hump as it better resembles a Buick bonnet. Tonight i finally sanded down the right side and began to make it mirror the left...a looooong way to go yet but Im really enjoying this one. I dont think I'll be aiming at a 100% correct Buick..but more a custom with a bit of artistic license taken.

So I bought this Revell snap kit that seems to be slowly transforming itself into something else...at first I couldnt quite figure it out..but the longer it goes on the more Im seeing resemblances to a 56 Buick...Ill be keeping a close eye on this one and taking pics of its transformation.

Hey guys, I tried to post this one in the cabover thread but couldnt upload the pics there for some reason. Anyways,this is a resin conversion kit that I built a few years ago,I used an AMT Freightliner kit as donor.Wish I still had this one.

Thanks following guys. Heres another small update, I did some work last night adding the windscreen area and removing the wedge at the rear of the bonnet/hood so that it butts up square to the windshield area. Ive still got some filing to do so that i can add some round rod to resemble rubbers without them making the holes look too small.

Thanks Gator...those wheels are only for pose value, Im planning on using the 40 ford caps .

That will be a cool project...i love these ugly old vans!
