Hey guys, well I managed to get myself out of my building slump as Id hoped with this one. Ive always had the opinion that the 57 Chev was one of the most perfectly styled cars ever so the challenge I set myself was to build one as a tasteful but not overdone custom so I figured the best way to do that was to use GM styling cues from the same year. The Buick influence is obvious, the dash instruments are 57 9Olds steering wheel is 59 Caddy. I used two cheap diecast 57Corvettes to make the big toothy grin and the wheels are also from the Vette. The colours are brilliant blue and bright silver, I i really wanted ultramarine blue but had no luck finding any. Hope you guys like it. Cheers.

Right on!! That's looking sweet..keep us updated

Looks like you've got the perfect ride height.

The plan is to build the rear and sides as close to a stock Buick as possible but the front will most likely wear the 58 Chev bumper in the pics and I may keep the Chevy bonnet with the rockets...but that might change if I get too pedantic

Nice lookin 57. That colour really suits it.

Hey all...here's my latest project, I've started with a Revell snapper in case I screw up but the idea is to end up with a 56 Buick mild custom. Here's progress so far, I'm just gonna work one side at a time so I don't get carried away lol. Any comments or ideas are welcome...Enjoy

Hello guys, I got in a fair bit of building time while the forum was down so I can post some updates. Got the interior done and added some extra detail, the door and winder handles are all made from pins. The dash is a 57 Oldsmobile its not an exact replica but it was the best i could do.
