  1. Thanks Jody, not a lot of apparent progress at the moment decals have been cleared, they arent perfect but I think it looks a little more realistic that way (my story and I'm sticking to it lol). Diffs in and plumbing has commenced (pics to follow)
  2. Alot of my tastes seem to be tuned into what I'm building example the Mongoose duster fc I'm building at the moment seems to be 70's type music CCR, Charlie Daniels band etc. When I'm building promods is when I seem to break out the Heavy as in black, death or thrash metal . The mustang I've not long finished was David Allen Coe and Hank Williams lll. I probably woulnt have noticed but a mate came over the other day and made the observation. I must be getting mellower in my older than I used to be age, 10 years ago I wouldnt listen to anything that wasnt heavy metal. By the way whats wrong with Britney Spears ? As long as she keeps her mouth shut and is kept away from small children, theres nothing wrong with her or her music if shes not singing it ,just listen to Children of Bodoms, Britney cover.........Brilliant stuff
  3. Now I wont say whether I'm religous or not but AMEN to that. Modelling in any scale (Built one 1:12th chev have another and the vette to do and built two 1:16th funnycars with three more and two feds to do and built and unbuilt 24/25ths in the hundreds) gives me release from the everyday pressures of life which is unmeasureable in a monetry sense. Down here in New Zealand we dont have much in the way of competitions (couple of IPMS) maybe (if youre not a member you dont generally find out till its finished) but the club I'm in does a few displays andYes I do drag my bigger stuff along too. Its generally well received because it stands out (and I dont think its to badly built) . As for cost...........as I said ,if something gives you pleasure (without being detrimental to someone else) isnt it worth it?
  4. Thanks Roger. Yep when funny cars looked like their st based counterparts was when they looked the best, just wish I had some more so I could build them all (just been watching american nitro again).
  5. Wow Bill, theres some awesome info throughout that buildup. Thanks for sharing your talent with us
  6. this one got the body in paint yesterday thought the decals were toast they had brown moldy looking stuff on them but as I couldnt find any others took a chance and used them. Apart from the glue going a little funky they seemed to be alright, will know tomorrow .
  7. though your pics are a bit blurry your soldering looks to be very good. I've done a couple of brass chassis and the biggest issue I had was doing the four link brackets. makes for a heavy model though lol. Keep it up will be watching for sure
  8. Definately a muscle car though a bit more st machine with the tunnel rammed boss. Revell kit with front suspension lowered and engine detailed thanks for following along the wip, hope you enjoy these finished shots
  9. man thats looking cool already ! Love that color too
  10. Thanks again for the comments, pretty much done now just license plate and tidy up the parts box battery (didnt realise that the kit didnt come with one till last night). Fixed the grille more for an accuracy thing (I mean whos gonna chrome plate a grille thats not usually chrome?) Mirrors and spoilers attatched, so heres the last update before it goes under glass. thanks for following along.
  11. Pipes look the right size to me as well and that cut down screen screams attitude. The work you have put into this is amazing and will be refered backto often. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Thanks guys , got the BMF done today and worked on the hood issue some more, should have some more pics tomorrow if not finish it.
  13. Color looks much better in the fact that your extra work shows up now. As Alyn has said a satin clear or leaving as is would be more traditional than a gloss would be but again that would bw your choice.

    fixer uppers

couple of not long finished? drivers. Cars were inspired by pics found on a 1:1 forum. 1st the old monogram 53 belair, bit of surface rust nothing to major, slightly hopped up six Next the amt 51 belair curbside at the moment as it was $(&^$%(*# me off ,channeled and lowered using only the kit suspension pieces.
  15. One maybe slightly overused word AWESOME .Very cool Drew , a not often seen build of what (probably) scores of cars ran back in the golden days of racing , Paint schemes very cool too.
  16. Mike, a what if concept type custom has got to be ten times harder than just modifying/ blurring the lines as in normal customs as you have much narrower confines to work within. That being said you have achieved what many feel Chrysler Corp didnt. the beautiful classic lines the charger Should have had. Dont as some else said underestimate what you have achieved here, anyone who see's something like this on the tables will know what its taken ,even if not how and probably wont even see the flaws that are so obvious to you (I think all builders myself especially tend to get to critical of thier own work, seeing a tiny flaw to be bigger than the whole car). That being said I dont see any and would be proud to show this off if it was mine.
  17. I agree ,that color looks superb on it. And if thats how they look out of the box ,I really got to get me at least one.
  18. Wow, thanks for the warm welcomes and the info regarding the grille. Dave , hadn't even thought about securing the brake lines to the body, thanks for reminding me , have to see if I can get in there now lol. The hood issue seems to be more the fuel lines than dizzy wires at the moment, theres just a little tension in there somewhere but its not far off closing properly. Bluesman Mark. I'll take all the HELPFUL critisism that comes my way, not only will it make me a better modeller but quite often a better person as well. Anyway heres the progress shots from last night. As you can see its looking quite complete at the moment but I've yet to fix the grille , BMF it, rear spoiler , mirrors and half a dozen other little things. I don't/can't build super shiney sema style look at my reflection paint jobs, so dont expect one. Shiney enough to be a well maintained driver is the look I can achieve and usually go for , No offence meant to anyone who does, I do like them ,I just cant build em lol
  19. My first real post here, been a bit nervous to post with all the great talent on this board. Am also quite far along with this particular build but it still allows me to get my feet wet so to speak. Right on with the details, Revell 70 mustang building the tunnel rammed 429. Paint is candy red and candy yellow mixed together hence the candy orange over an unknown shade of Dupont silver. fast foward a couple of days, floors are flocked seats are painted and motor detailing has started cut off the kits abyssmal master cylinder and plumbed up a parts box one
  20. Wow man thats looking great, the proportions are spoton. Going to be a stunner when yo're done.
  21. the red boxart with gold checkerboard behind looks like the millenium (year 2000) issue. Not positive but most all the reissues of that year came in that sort of box
  22. no mate thats one of my big (re older brothers), I crewed for him for a few years the other one has Rat Attack the 6second 55 chev. cheers Brett ps give me an email through my profile if you want to know any other kiwi end specific stuff
