  1. I like that color, too! The Graphite Dust and Silver Dust are among my favorites. That's a nice lookin' Viper you've got going there!
  2. I'd just like to say that I bought some decals and some tires and wheels from Joseph at Fireball Modelworks. This guy is OUTSTANDING! Great communication, fast shipping, and excellent communication. Two Thumbs Up!
  3. As a RX-7 owner, I must say, "Oh, the humanity! Avert your eyes!" Nice work, though.
  4. I'm a big fan of that Diamond Dust color! Nice work so far!
  5. Tom and Sam - those are some sweet looking '63's! They are great kits. Fun for all ages, I think. I may have to pick up another.
  6. I just thought I'd throw it out there as "food for thought". I think your build is off to a great start!
  7. This is looking like excellent work - of course. I'd recommend against using flour. It can go rancid after a period of time. A very good, and inexpensive alternative is "embossing powder". While not as dirt-cheap as flour, it is both inexpensive and stable in that it is not an organic food product. It has a similar texture and can be painted just like your flour. That said, I think you've got a really cool project going on.
  8. My attempt at weather with pastels. Smart or not, I don't know. But, it's done.
  9. Thanks. I see these on eBay once in a while. Actually, I just sold a second one that I had. Maybe I should've kept it. The kit comes w/ a small set of racing decals, too. Lots of potential. It's very, very small compared to anything else in the display case.
  10. It's been fun going through the ol' display case! Here's one I built from, well...? I forgot. Anyway, it's a little Lotus, in British Racing Green.
  11. Okay, here's a question. I attempted to do white letter tires using acrylic paint. But, it didn't turn out as I'd hoped. So two questions: 1) How to remove the acrylic paint from the vinyl tires (or whatever mystery material Monogram tires are?) 2) Is there a good/decent set of transfers, decals, etc. for the Goodyear & Eagle markings? Note that the front tire is smaller than the rear. I think the rears could be done w/ decals from a Nascar kit, but the fronts.....I'm at a loss. thanks!
  12. I love it! I had one of those - a 1990 Buick w/ the 3.1 engine, I think. It would have been a horrible cop car! Excellent work - it's really cool!
  13. I (finally) finished this one late last year or early this year. It's the Revell/Monogram GMC Syclone. I suspect the fit issues you see are because of me and not a fault of the kit. Since most Syclones were black on black, I painted my silver.
  14. @Ken - Wow, learn something new every day! What's a "Hugger"? Oh, and nice looking S-10 there. My Dad had a 1990(?) S-10 4.3 that he sold with well over 200,000 miles on it about 10 years ago. The man that bought it is still driving it, and has passed 300,000. As far as I know, no major work has been done to it, yet. @ Austin - If you're thinking of building this kit, it actually assembles pretty well!
  15. Here's one I built some time ago. It's been living in my display case (an old baker's display unit). Not everyone's cup o' tea, I know. But, I thought I'd share: Looks like I might have forgotten to add the headlights! Oops! I should do the trim around the windows, too.
  16. I like the variety, too! That '32 looks very, very nice.
  17. Thank you. Yes, the deck lid is a separate piece. Also, it included the up-top. Well, at least in the Pro Modeler rendition. I don't think the 1959 Revell issue, based on this kit, did include the up-top. But, I don't remember. I'll have to dig it out of the stash to verify. Anywho...I added the belts & buckles. A smattering of detail under the hood was also added, but I don't have a picture of it. Overall, I think this is one of my better builds. And, the Supreme Commander approved the color choice.
  18. How's this one going? I bet I'm not the only one here who's interested in seeing how far along you've come with this most excellent build!
  19. Stunning! Well done. Very well done!
