  1. On the bench currently is an Oldsmobile Aerotech. Vintage Monogram kit. Great shape, numerous fit issues (probably caused on the assembly line in my garage!) Paint is Testors Lacquer straight-from-the-can. I glued the rear deck on (it is intended to be removable). I plan (hope!) to create the panel lines with ink or paint or something. Sorry, no in-progress shots, really. I plan to keep the car as low as possible, so I think the "axles" will be glued to the wheels without using the center pieces. Kind of hard to see here. Although images I've found show a black interior, I think dark gray - or even something lighter - would have been a good idea given how dark it is. Even with the huge and clear canopy, it's quite dark in the cockpit. Of course, that would involve artistic license! The Quad-4 Engine. i hadn't noticed all of the paint that sneaked under my masks. Oh, well! It's for my display case - hardly a show model here. Thanks for looking!

Great build. Now, tell us about your Lego collection.
  3. Boy, this looks great. Just a note, and I don't know if it applies in all cases, but on my Dad's S-10 Extended Cab...that hump/box thing on the back of the cab wall was in the middle and not on the passenger side. Not sure what it is, even - but thought I'd toss it out there. Again, this is some nice looking work. If you don't mind my asking, how did you extend the cab? I assume two kits? Are there pictures up of that part of the progress?
  4. This is beautiful work! Are you planning to cast this? The reason I ask is that my Dad had an S-10 just like this for years. He still talks about how he should have kept it. (4.3 with just over 300k miles on it - that was not a typo) Anywho...I tried my hand at marrying two Monogram S-10 cabs together, but my results were nowhere near as nice as what you'd doing here. So - plans to make this beauty available to us lesser folks? Keep up the great work - this thing is a beaut!
  5. That does look nice. I've built the Coupe version of the same kit, and it's a very nice kit. Of course, I'm a little partial to RX-7's.
  6. Very nice. As you can see from my avatar, the RX-7 is one of my favorite cars. I have 1985 sitting in the garage right now. And...your work is most excellent!
  7. Wow, this is great stuff! I have the Ecto II kit and had hoped to backdate it to the first movie. Thanks for all the great information! All of this stuff looks great!
  8. Thanks. I just need to get it out of my head and into plastic. Maybe you can run with it...you're quite the inspiration with plastic!
  9. Looks great! Are you familar with the history of the real 787B? I have a RX-7 sitting in my garage right now. They share a common bloodline.
  10. Very sweet. I always thought it'd be cool to build the aerotech as a two seater. Then my mind went to tandem seats, with a rear gunner ala WW II US Navy style.
  11. I know it's a long shot, but I'm looking for these wheels to fit either the Tamiya or the Monogram 1st Generation RX-7. I'd especially like to find the "cross" or "x-shaped" (called plus-mark,sometimes) ones, but any of the period wheels would be nice. Something like these. Know of any makers?
  12. I have the Corvair in my stash - picked it up when R&D was still around. From looking at it, I always thought it looked pretty good. Of course, I've not attempted to build it yet.... If I recall correctly, it does seem to have the uphill chrome trim like the AMT 53-55 Corvette, of which I assumed it was based on. But anyway, I figure it's a start for a cool car. Someday...
