  1. I know the feeling, I am also returning from a 3 year hiatus although I painted quite a few bodies. Joining a local model car club has gotten me out of the slump. I was told a story from my Pastor several years ago that might relate here on the board. A pastor visited an elderly women that was not attending Sunday service for quite a while. As they sat together silently watching the fire in the sitting area, a glowing ember popped out of the fireplace and landed on the stone floor in front of them. The ember's glow started to fade and the pastor using the tongs tossed the ember back into the fire and then left. The women showed up in church next week and continued to attend regularly.
  2. The original Longest Yard with Bert Reynolds.
  3. If Shelby ever sees this he will probably resurrect the car. You have a gift on how improve a design. You should open a 1/25 design studio.
  4. I am enjoying this build very much especially since it is being done right here in my home town of Crown Point. We should get together sometime since I am an avid builder.
  5. I love the background, where did that come from?
  6. Nice builds! I got Paul Goldsmith to autograph my Lindberg release from last year and a painted shell also. He still owns and runs the local airport here in Griffith In. Ray passed away a few years ago. I got to have breakfast with him a few times at the diner across the street from the LHS. Interesting man, we always talked about lubricants since he was still blending them in his shop.
  7. Crown Point In. Been building second time around since 96. Member of the Lake Michigan Model Car Club.
  8. Correct me if I am wrong. I believe you could build a replica with the Monogram parts packs a lot cheaper if you just want to build a Big Drag. That is what I am doing. The turtle deck was included in one of the Big T releases I have and I bought the Drag Pack parts pack for the headers and roll bar with some other parts in it. I still need the chrome reversed wheels that run a little more than the rest of the packs along with the blower pack I usually brings around 75-100 bucks. Maybe not a lot cheaper but reasonable considering you do not see a lot of them on ebay.
  9. My 11 GT is currently getting 16 MPG with the update computer. I am not a lead foot either. But I do not care because I did not buy this car for the mileage- I always wanted a muscle car and since this is truly a modern version I had to have it.
  10. My prayers will be with you. You will get better and be throwing putty in no time. Dale (from G&G Saturday Mornings)
  11. I saw today that this 1/12 kit is being reissued with PE and Cartogragh decals like they did recently with the Porsche 910. Preorders are being taken on several Asian sites.
  12. The place you referred to as the Chicago Stadium actually was the International Amphitheater at 43rd and Halsted. The hawks played at Stadium on the west side.
  13. Just saw on KA models web site a super detail set is available from them now. Around $150 includes photo etch, resin corrected seats and white metal exhaust and drive shafts. The kit is available in broken of groups for less money.
