If that was an original issue-good deal. If that was the reissue from 7-8 years ago, that is what they go for now.

Early Model Builder Pioneers
drball replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Harry Ballard, my father. He introduced me to modeling as a young child by nurturing me and showing patience. He was a master wooden ship builder and made many different types of plastic models while I sat on the other side of the card table and worked on my kits. -
Wow, this topic the inner souls. I found it ironic at the american steel company where I was employeed for 30 years that coworkers would complain about foreign autos yet they all had money invested in international funds intheir 401's. We sold more steel to Toyota and Honda than the big three combined. They saved us from bankruptcy. They were also much more professional in dealing with quality issues than the big three.

Revell "Orange Crate" '32 Ford Sedan Hot Rod
drball replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
One of the past HRJ's had a detailed feature article on all the history of the car with extensive photos of the restored car. Revell said at last falls hobby show in Chicago the release will have a plastic hood. -
This is a very important to me and I assume many others to finally determine if I should attempt this kit build. If anybody could tackle this, it would be you. If you do get all the assemblies together and have the rear hatch sit in place with a reasonably detailed engine-I'll start my build. I am counting on you Mark!

I would suggest the Revell parts packs for some nice and period correct engines that were released a decade or so ago. They are plentiful for reasonable prices.

Question for Gregg or Harry...
drball replied to Ramfins59's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
To me it is not a big issue since many board members post extensive coverage of the show in their photo accounts sometimes before the end of the weekend. Also a rival board posts photos the following week. I do like holding a mag in hand best but my immediate gratification is met by the timely posts. -

LUNCH TRUCKS--THE NEW RAGE--ARE YOU HUNGRY?
drball replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I attended in Phoenix last October an evening lunch truck event where you paid $25 and got a wrist band to sample of the offerings as much as you liked from the 20 some trucks that were present. Young crowd and some us olders mixed in with a huge collection of hipsters. Quite the event with unique foods and positive vibes. -
It makes me feel a lot better that a master like Donn had possible problems with the Twin H Power script on the trunk also. I tried every method known and still was not satisfied with the results. So I sanded the script off and forgot about it.

Merry Christmas to you and all the board members. Do not forget we need to get together as you are the only other builder I know of in Crown Point.

Stunning workmanship, I also saw the buildup on another site.
