Thanks, Nick! I posted wrong picture there, but now I fixed it, needs to think, how I couldn't realize that I posted picture from '57 Bel Air's hood here.....
-
Thanks, Chris and Tyrone! Next needs to cut the rear floor away. I'm trying to keep it going, but now needs to finish '57 Chevy to the model car show.
-
Thanks, Paul! Yesterday painted this one, but I'm not so happy about the end result. Needs to sand a bit of it, and then new coat of paint. Hope it looks good after that.

Hood is now painted. Not perfect, but it will look good after polishing, and bit of BMF will give a finished look to it, hopefully. Body is now cleaned up inside, and glass parts will be glued tomorrow.

This looks like model to me, maybe bit larger scale.... Let's see on friday when comes the right answer.

Thanks, Bart, Randy, Chris and Brett! I've been using aluminium from beer cans, and it's really good stuff, and easy to use. But for the wheel wells, I must use bit thicker aluminium, otherwise they are too faint/weak..... But for the new floor, I'm going to use beer can aluminium. And it would be nice to see those pics, from those Nova parts. I had to make that tube square, because I didn't have other than round tube. Easy job, and the tube looks pretty good, when it's square. Here is just a little update. I added few more tubes to that rear frame basis, which was built on the previous update. I did shorten it, and now it's just correct size. Well, now needs to cut the rear floor away, then it's possible to do some test fitting. Also needs to find racing rear axle for this build, then I can fit tires in, and see how it's going to look, and if I have to change something.

Really nice, that rust looks very realistic, I'd like to get that level too on weathering. I like the look with rusty body with clean wheels and tires. This one looks really good...

Amazing work, and if this truly is your second model, I'm really impressed! Great job so far, keep us posted. That engine looks really good, and of course Chevrolet W-Block is nice to see, as you maybe can think from my "screen name".

Just a bit of detailing on the engine. I'm not taking this as far as the Super Bee, but I had to install those anyway. Now I might leave it alone, few hoses etc coming in the final assembly anyway.

I don't actually know, how it is in the States, but here in Europe drivers have gone real fast, 5,9 and 5,8 times, few times. So to the next season of Pro Modified, they have decided to lower the RPM on those blown methanol engines, without NOS. So they wouldn't be that fast. Personally I don't understand, why, but maybe that's for some safety "problems". So maybe there comes more cars with huge engine with NOS, without blower, and these cars with Twin Turbo. Here in Finland, we have one Pro Modified car with 899" Cid. engine, and from Sweden, we had two Twin Turbo cars driving. They both were really wild, well, other one was pretty close of hitting a wall, but other one had bit traction problems on the start. Your project looks really cool, that body is just typical '57 Pro Mod body, very aerodynamic, but presonally I prefer one which is not so aerodynamic, because that's for those who don't have enough power.

Just a little update. I started building the rear frame. After a bit of measuring and thinking I realized that I have to cut whole rear floor away. I haven't done that yet, before I cut it away, I want to have "complete" rear frame. Few reference pictures from Chevy Nova Handbook and Summit Racing's catalogue. Well, some brass tube and I rolled it from round to bit square. Then I built three parts from it, today I have to make some more, because time ran out. I soldered those three parts together, and today needs to build more of that rear frame, and then cut the rear floor away. Needs to build new floor from aluminium, new wheel wells coming from aluminium too. Here are some pictures.

How did I miss this one? That's something must have, as the Hudsons. Kit looks pretty good from those pictures on the first page. Maybe needs to get two of them, one factory stock and one custom maybe...

" Mercury Rising": 49 Mercury Convertible / "Bubble Top"
W-409 replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Those wheels are great, they are looking so clean and smooth! I like the engine detailing, as always, amazing job John. Alclad looks great. Only critic comes from those textes on the chassis, but I think, they don't matter too much on a finished model. Keep this coming, very nice project to watch. Can't wait to see more bodywork, and the color. -
You got any updates to this build? Very interesting, but I haven't seen Travis here... I'd love to see more pictures, it's truly amazing build. Here is one burnout by Fast Freddy!!! Amazing. B)

More pictures of that Nova Pro Street... One More Picture......

After that '49 Ford I built '66 Nova Pro Street as a Glue bomb restore. I got it for free, and there were all of the parts. I broke the rear window, and windshield wasn't in good condition either, so I made new ones from acetate. It's painted with spray gun and Revelle Enamel paint. I had bit problems with the painting, and that's why I'm not happy about it. Engine is simple, just plug wires and carburetor linkage. Otherwise pretty much box stock, I think. And oh yes, it's the original release, not round 2. I've won one Best Junior prize on Street Machine, and once I was Junior III with this model.
