1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
W-409 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
That looks super nice on those mock up pictures! I like this project very much, detail work and scratchbuilding is at amazing level. Hopefully I can build something this nicely after 40 years of practising... That Monza FC looks very good too. Great, two Army Funny Cars and both H-Bodies. -
Not Just Any Type of VW Bus by Yasu Okugawa (Doozy)
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Model Cars
WOW, this is absolutely AMAZING!!! Those little details make it look really realistic. Truly amazing job, I don't know what to say about it. -
This is the last update before Under Glass post. It's now on four wheels. Those tires are from my parts box, and wheels are resin, as I said. Front axle is scratchbuilt from brass. Also fuel tank is installed, fuel line on its place, some carburetor detailing done, installed the air cleaner, grille sectioned, painted and installed, headlights on, brake master cylinder on...... Still lots of things to do, brake lines, steering wheel, painting etc. But tomorrow it needs to be finished for the local Model car show, on saturday. Thanks for looking. No burning rubber with this one...

That's bad, there comes No NASCAR from TV  Only there comes from canals, you have to pay for...

Nice Challenger. This is something rarely seen, '71 model. Nice job with that paintjob and decals. Engine bay looks very good too, detailing is great. Nice job as always...

WOW, this is very nice build combo!!! Personally I don't like pro Touring cars at all, but this one is so nicely done, that it looks good. Color fits nicely and it's very clean build overall. Great to see Plymuoth Volare, that is something, I'd like to build also. Dodge Ram looks very good too.
-
GREAT to see two '60 Chevrolets there! Is that panel wagon some kind of resin? I have Jimmy Flintstone's '60 Nomad body. Can't wait to see more work with them. And yes, make a photobucket account, it's easy and free of course.

Oh, you make these modifications look so easy.... Great job with it, and I'm looking forward to see this completed. I haven't seen HotRods from your bench, so this is very interesting. Keep on the good work.
-
Leave them like that, now they are looking really wild, and that's great! Great build, color fits perfectly. I haven't seen enough these Drag Race Hot Rods.
-
Wheels and front axle painted. I have no picture of that front axle, but tomorrow I get it installed, then comes a picture from it. But anyway, the wheels are here, they are resin parts (I didn't cast them, I could not do that nice job with them.)

Hey Jim, if it's not too late, I'd like to jump in with another project... No one has song 409 from Beach Boys? So I'd like to jump in with: '32 Ford 409 the song is of course Beach Boys - 409 If it's not too late. ...And oh, here are the lyrics. http://www.lyricsfreak.com/b/beach+boys/409_20013984.html

Yes, that's true! Needs to keep on drawing, I should try to make Front Engine Dragster next... Maybe I can start it tomorrow, or maybe not.
-
Scratchbuilt front axle... I built it from square brass tube what I used to Falcon also. It could be better, but it can be installed in this Rat Rod. I could have done this one lots of better, but this is built just for fun. In a side of those better models.

Thanks for that. I sometimes might ask these stupid things, because we don't use english here in Finland and then it's inpossible to know all of these things, like COT and S/I ans so on.
-
Great job with it. I like the color and paintjob is great too. Engine detailing looks also very nice, and wheels look good. Great to see these without too big wheels, or something else, which is too modern...
-
Great to hear, I send you a PM with my e-mail adress. Thanks. Body and other parts too are now on the paint stripper. Hopefully paint leaves off soon.
-
Thanks, Ken and John! I must do like that also when I'm working on Monogram based '57 Chevy. And THANKS both!
-
Well, parts are now at the paint stripper, hope to have them without paint soon. Chris, it would be great to see some pictures, if it's not too hard to send them... Where would you like to send them? Here, e-mail, PM?

"Mercury Rising" 1949 Mercury Convertible / "Bubble Top"
W-409 replied to John Teresi's topic in Model Cars
Truly amazing! That painting with alclad looks wicked. I like that burnt effect on the frontend of it. Engine detailing is jaw-dropping, as usual. That is just so smooth and clean build as always. I like to see this 2 in 1 version with the bubble top also. Great job with it. -
Thanks, David. It's true, this kit has some problems, but it can be built really nicely when just taking time and do some modifications. I did not do them, but next time I will.
