Thanks Andy! And I had to think few moments about why were you talking about Chi Town Hustler, but it's in Historic racing CBP! It would be great to see some pictures of it, and if you didn't remember to post WIP pictures- that doesn't matter. Well, of course they would have been nice to see, but anyway, I'm waiting for the finished pictures...

Thanks, Chris and Brett! I know that feeling... And I'm feeling it right now after doing some more cleaning and sanding etc... But that's true, the end-result is absolutely worth it. This just needs to be done, otherwise this isn't looking so good when finished. Detailing is great way to get model looking more realistic, but if there are lots of mold lines all over, that's not good because then it can't be looking like 1:1 car does... So what I do, is keep going and clean up that frame so it's ready to be primered.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
W-409 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is truly amazing!!!! You are making really nice progress with it. Those wheels look very good, and valve stems are great. You scratchbuilt those side panels to that frame, I must think about doing the same thing to my own Vega, maybe that would be a good idea instead of using those from that kit... Let's see if I have enough money to buy some bolts, photoetch maybe. If I can, I might try building them from Styrene. But this topic is great to watch, keep on the good work. -
Great to see more Vega Funny Cars here. That color looks very good, and it will sure look good with those decals. I can't wait to see more progress with it, so keep us posted.

Thanks, Chris! The body isn't ready yet, but while waiting it, I started making that frame more realistic. I used file and sandpaper. First I smoothed that mold seam from the "wrong side" of that frame. Then I moved on... Picture 3 shows, that frame tubes are not round... So carefully with file and sandpaper, I started making those tubes round.. It turned out pretty good, I think. Well, they are better that the original ones. I'm not ready yet, only this side, what picture 4 shows, is pretty much ready but it needs some cleaning too. I'm going to continue today, hopefully I can get that frame primered soon and then I can see if there are lots of things to fix. First picture of that mold seam, needs to be removed.... Second picture shows, that it's removed. And then, original frame, not round at all... And this picture shows, where I'm right now. As I said, still some work to do with that frame, but gettin' started.

Little more bodywork. I really hope, this is the last time when I put some putty to this Corvette body... I must sand it smooth today and then bit of primer, I think it'll look good after that. I'm not going to paint two tone paintjob, just keeping this one simply, if I mess that two tone, all of the bodywork gets damaged in the paint stripping.

Building Monogram's Street and Revell's Racing Version of Shelby Cobra.

Thanks, Cato and here we go, little update. But I had some problems with the network connections after thunderstorm on thursday night, so I couldn't post this update earlier. Anyway, the interior was without paint, so I painted it with Revell's flat black and hopefully today I can put some flocking there. I'm going to paint some chassis parts today also. -
And next I installed electric water pump. I had to install that little black part there (last picture) and I will install some wires next. I also made hole to that hood, but I'm not sure if I have to make it larger when I get blower's belt installed. But that's it for now, thanks for looking. I hope there's more coming soon.

Sorry, I've forgotten this CBP! I have some updates, what I have done, not much but here we go... First, ignition wires are installed. They are in correct firing order, I think. And also I'm trying to figure out the stance, I have no axles, wheels or anything like that yet, and I'm going to change those front tires. But maybe stance would be something like that?

I have pictures of Pro Mod engines, if you need them, I can post here... Project sounds very interesting, but I can't help you, everything I had in mind, is told already. But if you want some pics, that's not an problem.

As Janne said, great to see something different built from this kit. That paintjob looks very good, and I like those stripes and other decals. Finishing looks great on this one, thanks for sharing these Turbine Cars.

Wow, both are great! Paintjobs are very shiny and smooth too. I like that vinyl top also. Great job with these, when there comes the re-issue, I must get one and build it. This is not my favorite car, so that re-issue is ok to me. It's really nice car anyway.

If I get one of these kits soon, I might jump in. I'm planning to do something like this, Super Stocker...... But first I need to buy that kit.... I'll buy one from the local Model Car contest which is coming soon, if I have money.
-
Rob, that Studebaker is very interesting! Harri Rovenperä from Finland has won La Carrera Pan Americana once with '53 Studebaker. With this car: I might jump in, but I have to check first, what I have for this CBP.

Didn't find anything from the google... But it's FRIDAY, today we'll see what is that...

Hey, you're from Germany... Hello from Finland! Great looking build. That detailing is great and my favorite parts are those seats. They look just like 1:1 seats do. Those seat belts are really nice too. This build is truly amazing, now I'm going to get my jaw from the floor.

This is going to be amazing build, can't wait to see more. Gassers are my favorites and '41 Willys is great looking car so this is going to be great. Rear wheels and tires look very good, great choice.

Great build, paintjob is great. That giant fish would be great on the hood or on the top, but it's really great build without that one too. Movies are great too.
-
This is really great looking Challenger. I must get that kit too, these Nostalgic Drag Racers are just so interesting... That paint looks pretty good to me and detailing is great. Like seeing something different, and I haven't seen Challenger FC in long time. Your build looks great, thanks for sharing.

This project is amazing! I can't understand, how it is possible to build something as nicely as this... I know, it's hard to make fender skirts from styrene. You are building the whole body from styrene and it will be looking very good when it's done. Have you been thinking of doing resin copies from it?
-
Well, the best color is what builder likes, but I'd never paint it pink. It just don't fit to '67 Charger.
-
That rear axle is looking amazing. I can't wait to see the next update, this is going to be really great. Haven't seen Viper Racecars often, this one is really great difference. Perfect job with building it again.

1969 Camaro outlaw prostreet updates 11/19/11

That last picture is my favorite! Looking very good Tyrone, as usual. Can't wait to see more progress on this, it looks very mean and with your skills, finishing is going to be amazing. -
This is really great! I like the detailing of that engine. Front Engine Dragsters are always nice to see, and this is done very nicely. I like the color scheme too. Front wheel spokes are bit thick, but I know that problem, I'm having it in... Oh, let's count... Three kits. And aftermarket parts are expensive.
