Got the layout of the pulleys finalized, now to get on the carbs setup and then route the hydraulic lines......

I have always wanted to model this jeep rat rod, well today I got the reissued mpc jeep and will give it a go, may not be exactly like this one, depending on my scratch building skills but will see what happens......

on the scale model addict forum Scott Girvan built a beautiful pete rat rod and Scott got me inspired me to build my own and the ideas have been churning in my mind to how I can build one. Got a start and the last thing I need is a new build but here goes, getting the body ready thats all im at right now till i can figure out a frame for it..... This is Scotts beautiful build: this is my inspiration right here. the following pics are my start:

I have come up with color for this build and the lighter shade of pink is the interior color just trying decide what color for the exterior, in the pic the blue is actually purple. Leaning towards the Kandy Scarlet thou, which is the middle color The interior had to be censored because if i did not put the playing cards over the interior door panels then the mods would have to take off this thread but you get the idea.

Another Idea I have been bouncing around in my mind is using a fine line sharpie and drawing a design on the hood then spray over it with a candy color to have the image show thru the paint. I came across this from someone on facebook that did a biomech design using a sharpie then painting over it with a candy paint.

I have finally took to task the hinge for the hood, and if this works I will be able to finally get to graphics and paint. I have tried to hinge it from the rear, from the side and finally after hours of no luck decided on a double joint hinge and tilt it forward, it can rest on the back edge of hood or im planning on mostly displaying it by resting it on the bumper.

I love what you are doing so far will be watching this one with great interest, question for you, where did you find the tiki doors?

just a little update I got some fire back under me for this build, mock up of the interior will have bucket seats with custom card backs and a custom console.

Tony, thanks for the site, if they come pre painted yes but im a horrible figure painter so unless i can score some fully painted Im out of luck.

bought them a long time ago, forgot where I bought them, tried to remember where I bought them but just decided to mold the one I had because Im gonna put about 5-6 of them all around the trailer and a few in the bed.

my new years res is to finish the aztec warrior, the strippers delight and this one. Decided that there was way to much work on the revell 56 ford due to warpage and the fit of the doors so im going with this truck the amt 53 ford pickup.

My new years resolution is to finish my aztec warrior, this strippers delight and the egyptian raider theme builds. Little update on this one, decided I wanted to take the top off which would go along with the theme of the build, going topless.....

Thanks Jonas and David. another small update, I did not plan in either bed a place for an amp. was thinking of placing it under the bed and add a few of my scratched video monitors. Not sure if this will be where they end up but just doing some brain storming.

Thanks mike, not much of an update, been working on smoothing out the bodywork, decided to fill in the openings in the hood, never like the hood on the 1950 ford, adding some resin pieces to the truck beds, and laying out some more resin pieces under the body.

Thanks Austin, believe me i want to update this baby with the complete pics, but now im on to the grueling part of cleaning up the body work and making a custom hinge for the hood, and finalizing the hydro system, stereo set up so updates will be a little slow for a while but check back often hope to have some updated pics by the end of next week.

wow any updates on this , was hoping to see more.....

Not much of an update last night but did come up with an exhaust, the original exhaust would not fit with the treatment i did for the bracing for the bumper so i found some mega phone type jewelery bits in my stash that went over the cut off pipe. once painted i think will look pretty good.
