  1. I love the look of the Lonestar in Lime...that looks awesome! I wish I'd thought about putting a set of fenders on mine now...and just like someone told me, for as inaccurate as the italeri 48' is, it sure looks good behind the lonestar! keep up the great work! Chad
  2. Dave, if it's anything like the last truck kit you released I'll be buying AT LEAST THREE OF THEM! I love the lonestar and can only imagine the excellent quality of the new model Chad
  3. Most definitely Mark, we're going to be doing some community building of the kits....we're very excited to get going on this huge morale project. Thank you very much Chad
  4. thank you Cat, it would be much appreciated and I'm sure the guys will love whatever anyone sends. I personally am thinking either ordering another Lonestar and a daycab conversion or scratchbuilding my everyday truck..... I'd much rather do the scratchbuild project Chad
  5. if anyone would like you can also just send them to the Shindand Afghanistan USO.....I can also get you that address as well....I know this sounds awkward but it's not anyone trying to pull chains like some think, I want other people HERE in Afghanistan to pass the time as well as possibly get into OUR world a little more and maybe have some fun with it when they get home even.... Thank you so much Chad
  6. HEY GUYS! I must say I'm missing the model building and America all together ....it's been pretty fun over here though , not too much going on and I'm blessed to say I've started volunteering at the USO ( A PLACE FOR SOLDIERS OF ALL BREEDS ) and well I'm writing today for a little charitable help. one of our USO volunteers as well as one of our Army majors have written a few model companies ( revell monogram and Tamiya to be exact ) and what we'd like to do is start up a USO model building group ( for this deployment as well as many to follow hopefully )....and we're looking for some help from our fellow people at home. if you have 1-2-3-4 however many you could spare it will be for a great cause...I am really ecstatic to be heading up this project and hopefully it will continue into many deployments to follow to keep our soldiers and airman alike up on their morale. if you would like to donate a model or 2 or however many like I said PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and thank you so much! I will also post some progress throughout our forum here as well as our fb page at USO SHINDAND SO PLEASE CHECK THAT OUT AS WELL! here is my address and they will get to the right people, like I said I'm running the project. my address is Hessey, Chad 838 AEAG/SFS SHINDAND AB APO, AE 09382 Thank you so much and like I said all our soldiers will appreciate it sincerely your fellow modeler Chad Hessey
  7. Hey Eric it was nice meeting and "talking to you too. I'm planning on coming down to visit when I get home and picking up some more stuff from you. Hopefully in 6 months you can remaster it, I will be picking up a 362 coe as well as one of those 9300s and a few other things, youre welcome for the good words on the castings, they were awesome, I'm going to spend some good money with you lol Chad
  8. hey guys so the deployment has started and Im looking forward to building up the model cache before I get home...Im wanting to build some resin stuff to kind of change up the fleet as well as do something a little different....Im wanting to build up Matts freightliner condo as well as a classic xl and classic xl condo but can't find who's doing his stuff now??? I am going to be getting quite a few more things from Eric as well, if you haven't used Erics stuff I highly suggest it, it's nice work.... Chad
  9. Those are beautiful pieces there! I would buy one of those trailers as well if you decided to sell one! Chad
  10. The wiring would be through the fenders behind the headlights and into the framerails. Chad
  11. I leave tonight for 6 months to a place were not allowed to say but quilts are like these lol. I have a cool idea for a working suspension I'm going to do when I get home. Chad
  12. Thanks for the compliments guys I'm really going to miss building for the deployment time. Chad
  13. well guys as promised here are pictures I finally got a working computer LOL... here's the lonestar with the italeri 48' american reefer spread to a 10' spread axle....still in progress on the trailer...this picture shows some chains I added and a set of train horns I built for it. here's the frieghtliner in full view with the extended stinger on the trailer. here's the T600 I have in the works right now, just need a few more things to get it finished....ok alot more...the frame was stretched and I added another set of toolboxes behind the tanks. here's a builtup 378 I got from Eric at P&P and just needed to be put back together....it has Jamie from M'oluminums front wide floats on it... here's the 359 that I've got in the works with both the resin top and the other top....
  14. Clayton thanks for the help bud, I'm gonna add the rest tomorrow when my computer gets here. Here's the run down on the freightliner..... Its built far from right out of the box as you can see. The front tires were swapped for a set of italeri road style tires mounted on the stock wheels, the rear drive tires are box stock but the rear drive rims were swapped out for the white 5 hole style from the amt cornflake tandems. The headache rack is right out of the peerless box with the addition of the rotating bubble gum warning lights and a TON of chain because the frame is too short for the chain box that goes in the frame.the side toolbox is an rvg pete stepbox with the step cut off so that it looks more like a toolbox. The fenders are the diamond plate fenders from the snap kw as well as the mirrors..... The front bumper is the front bumper from the pete kit, I am modifying the winter front grille to work on the freightliner right now. The motor is going to be a cat from the snap kw kits with a turbo and all, I'm working on the motor now. As for the trailer well its bone stock with the exception of scratchbuilding a rear warning light bar and brake light bar. I also used evergreen to build a longer scratchbuilt stinger, now the truck and trailer combo is a little over a scale 40' in length.....and all the suspension works on the trailer too its pretty cool!
  15. Kostas, the pete is actually quite heavy, especially as a triaxle!, and I'm thinking about adding more resin..... As for the freightliner, I used a little bit of glue at the very bottom of the cab and accelerated it and than worked the cab seam, it came out great! Taking pictures right now. Chad
  16. So with the up and coming deployment I wanted to clear my head of its reality so I sank myself into some trucks. I recently picked up an amt dd freightliner, amt peerless logger, rvg alaskan hauler peterbilt( not built like that ), an italeri 48' american reefer and an amt canepa t600( not built like your average canepa either )..... The freightliner is the logger and ill post some pics later The rvg pete is a semi custom using P&P louvered grille,j bracket headlights, turbo wing set, different front wheels, P&P texas bumper, P&P resin stand up sleeper roof, P&P hot rod fenders, P&P RF2 fenders( still need to get them, redesigned for a triaxle truck ), and also resin sleeper skirts, I am thinking about pulling it apart when I get home from deployment and adding a P&P resin long hood, 1 piece breathers and light bars.....ill post some pics later tonight as well. I just need to get some custom stacks built for it( I'm thinking about taking some plastic with me to the desert and designing some 10"ers and sending them, the grille, the headlights and the bumper to be chromed. As for the kw well its now got no side skirts, I added about 2 scale feet to the frame, steps and tanks from the snap tite kw.....ill post some more later as well. Sorry for the long post just wanted to kinda get my ideas out there for you guys to use. Chad
  17. I use either chrome or flat black( depending on the style of the build ) and they're stick brushes( looks like a stick with a teeny tiny bit of cotton at the end.....they work awesome and with a dibble of painty they give absolutely no running. Chad
  18. Scott, The engineering in this kit is TOPNOTCH!!!! The cab spent 2 of those days in paint while I built other items of the truck, the only thing I haven't done is recleared the body since I put the decals on. Everything practically fits together like a perfect puzzle. Quite a few of the pieces I wonder if the kit wasn't designed like a snap-tite kw, which I'd awesome for fitment and such! Hope this helps, also as for the price my local hobby town charged me 75 which is in my opinion.....well worth it! I will buy many many more of these kits and I usually buy one at a time....but I will have 2 or 3 maybe 4 of this kit. Chad
  19. Well I finally figured it out! Sorry for the crappy pictures, they're taken with my cell phone. Right now I have a tentative trade with a modeler on here to get the trailer I want/need....so these doubles will be put back on the shelves with another truck, this truck will be pulling a 48' spread stainless reefer....here's the newest addition to my truck parking lot and I must say, I am most proud of thise truck! Chad
  20. You have met TWO of the nicest hobbyists I have ever had the ability to meet. Heck when I was younger Art used to take me to model car meets so I can build models....he's the person I blame for my model car/truck obsession lol. Together they have teamed up to build the newest/COOLEST model semis on the market! I love this model, the color scheme of yours is very catchy, it came out great! Chad
  21. so I "finished" my lonestar last night, it's a pretty box stock O/O working for ERB, pulling a set of "box stock" CF tandems( done in ERB livery )...I just have to get the ERB decals from scale trucker to logo them. the truck is black with pearl clear and the trailers are black with pearl clear and chrome front ends... the only things added to the truck are: Chains on the rear grab handle( back of the sleeper ) 4 chime train horns on the back deck... I will try to get some pictures up in the next day or so but it's pretty hectic with getting ready to deploy...that means more money for me to build another ERB truck pulling the italeri 48' reefer lol. Chad
  22. another little thing.....Im dumb and always do this last ( not because I forget ).....you can't put the exhaust in last....my truck has no y-pipe because I can't figure out how to put it in lol....it's IMPOSSIBLE!!!.... other than that!! THIS KIT IS AMAZING!!! I can't wait for Moebius to do their next kit, I'll for sure be in line for that kit as well!! **co-hopefully it's a realistic late model trailer-ugh** Chad
  23. Dang it, for some reason I thought it was a cummins . I painted it bright red thinking it was a cummins.....guess I need to correct it next time on the next truck cause it's already in the truck now. Chad
  24. the maxxforce 15 in the lonestar kit. I am leaving it in the lonestar just couldn't remember what color to use to realistically detail the motor. Chad
  25. hey guys so I finally decided on what trailer to use with this lonestar kit....I am actually doing a little bit of custom work on my CF tandems...I have replaced ALL the outer wheels with aluminum style and I'll be adding some "UPS Brooms" above the tires, the truck and trailers are both all painted gloss black with pearl clear coat. however I have run into a dilemma....I am thinking about making it an O/O for Erb, or Moebius( spelling ) transport, I need more decals. if anyone has 2 sets of either one they can spare please let me know.... also if I recall correctly, this run of Cummins engine were bright red in the trucks right? I can't remember, and I really hope so because I painted mine bright red... Chad
