  1. I actually found it on craigslist in my town...pretty excited, my wife went and picked it up for me today while I was at work. Chad
  2. Hey guys...I finally got a score today! I picked up the T500 and the matching first edition amt beaded panel van both in the boxes ( started but complete ) both kits for 20 bucks! I'm ecstatic about building another 359! Chad
  3. was wondering if any of you have ever used the payhauler tires as a load on a flatbed? I'm wanting to put some payhauler tires on one of my flatbeds but thinking they may be a hair too small....do any of you guys have any pictures of your payhauler tires on the flatbed as a load? Chad
  4. well here's an update I've been working on the tarps for 3 days now!!! I'm just waiting on all my alcoas to show up, but I was able to get 6 axles worth of alcoas and hubs!!!! the cords are elastic cord I found at walmart for 1.98 for 4.5 meters of it...most of the hooks are made from christmas ornament hanging wire and some other small wire...all I did for the tarps to be able to do the tarps was to paint them and glued on the cords...it was a real pain in the butt!!! I am still working on the lonestar, I have to still finish up the engine and finish up the radiator trim work ( what I found was the issue for the hood fit---at least on my lonestar, but it still is an amazing kit!!! Chad
  5. Hello again all. Ive got 2 good spare hoods for a snap pete and want to scratch a 359 ext hood...for my next 359 project...any ideas? Chad
  6. Chris, why don't you just stretch the heavy haul frame using the regular 359 frame? that's what I've always done... Chad
  7. Thanks Chris and A.j. I got all the alcoas rounded up through A.j. I should see those next week sometime, pretty excited to swap them over, just have to figure out what's the best way to split these hubs from the wheels so I can use them with the alcoas.....any tips? I used CA glue on them. Chad
  8. I see what you're saying Greg, I just really want the alcoas for my trailer, I love the look of black and red and chrome....the color of my 1/1 f350 used to be bright red with chrome everywhere....now it's black with chrome everywhere my wife had it painted while I was in afghanistan....so black/chrome and red/chrome are my two favorite color combos lol and there are mudflaps now( there were actually mudflaps in all but one of those pictures....the worst part about the build is the trailer tarp straps.............they are really suckin lol Chad
  9. it's not easier to just scratch build it, because if you want the detail it would be so much more difficult. you also need the frame rails from the second kit as well and if you do what I did, you can use the wheels and tires from the second one as well do it this way you'll be much happier and it's much easier IMO....just remember to make some added shelf space........THIS THING IS HUGE WHEN IT IS DONE!!!! here's some pics of mine. I'd say the combo is just a hair over 3' long. Chad
  10. I assemble, than paint. it works well for me, just do multiple light coats you'll get there. Chad
  11. Thanks Gordon, I love the way the paint turned out. with the bad cab that you helped me replace I'm mocking up a 56" flat top for my next lonestar build, can't wait to see if that turns out well. Chad
  12. Its very easy though. To do this you will need two trailers. Cut off the very back trim edge ( 1/4" ) and measure out what of the second trailer ( using the rear of the second trailer ) put both trailers together and the trailer will be and overall length of 23.04" in length to equal 48'. I just did this last week with a 6 axle covered wagon, and now im using the remainder to convert a second into another 48' eric. Its really easy. Chad
  13. Hmmmmm.....I need a bar sander with a tunnel edge this will bed my next lonestar build! For sure! Chad
  14. That would looks awesome as a lonestar with stacks and breathers and chicken lights with about a 275" wheelbase Chad
  15. Hey bud I sent you a message, not sure if it went through or no. Chad
  16. If you did it right you could section the top and keep the upper radiuses and it would looks alright, only way to find out is try lol Chad
  17. I definitely want to buy a set of those front wheels and tires when youre ready to sell them. Chad
  18. Im actually mocking up a 36" bunk for my prostar cab when it comes out.....talk about alot of work! Chad
  19. I was playing around and threw some IMC tanker wheels one it to see how it looked with 6 axles and I love it but the wheels themselves are too huge. Im going to try to find one more suspension from the flatbed to make it a 6 axle and try to find at least 12 alcoas to really make it pop....the tarps are coming nicely though. Chad
  20. That looks really good. Im so glad to see so many of these kits popping up all over! I personally love the truck and the model. Chad
