  1. Sounds like the solvents in the ink reacted with the paint. I've seen that happen myself, especially with hobby paints.
  2. If you're looking for the 1/64 scale versions, Walmart and Meijer both carry them (locally, Meijer has a better selection), and if you have a Menards in your area, they are stocking them for the Christmas season. I just picked up a pair of '59 Chevrolet Fleetside 4x4s from them yesterday.
  3. I'm going to have keep a lookout for this one. I've been collecting their 1/64 diecasts, too, and have a few of their 1/24 cars. Nice to see someone do a 1/24 diecast of the Task Force/Blue Chip body truck and actually get it right!
  4. Ok, I see what you're after. If you're not adverse to the quad headlamp front of the later truck, the '58/'59 7000 might be just the ticket, if you cant find the '55-'57 cab from R & R. The 7000 is essentially the same as the 5000, just with a higher payload, and slightly different wheelbase options. The 5000 (2 ton) was available in112 5/8 (5100), 136 5/8 (5400), and 160 5/8 (5700), the 7000 (2 1/2 ton) and 9000 (2 1/2 HD) were available in 112 5/8 (7100/9100), 124 5/8 (7200/9200), and 172 5/8 (7700/9700).
  5. I'm not sure what direction you're wanting to go with the build, or if you're 100% set on '55-'57, but Race Motor Replicas does have a listing for a '55-'57 crew cab LCF (phantom or possibly aftermarket conversion, never a factory body) as well as a '58/'59 7000 LCF. I'm not really familiar with their bodies or their quality, though.
  6. Unfortunately, no. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62953
  7. Here's the Suicide King in its natural environment in action.
  8. I've been meaning to make a post about those decal options on Stovebolt.com just to see if anyone there has one.

  10. That's messed up. There really should have at least been a caution flag shown at that part of the track, if not a full course red flag, until that tractor was clear of the racing surface with the car it was removing.
  11. Whatever you do, NEVER put anything die cast or aluminum in it. You will not get it back, as the lye in it will dissolve the aluminum in the alloy.

  13. From Rock and Rule. Deborah Harry provides the singing voice for Angel, along with Robin Zander as the singing voice for Omar. She also co-wrote this song for the movie.
  14. I got what you're saying, Harry. And I agree 100%.
  15. Looks like your research is spot on, Chuck.
  16. It was under Truck Aftermarket/Resin. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67543 Just because its; worth reposting, Jolly Goodfellow's site, 6066 GMC Guy, is the best place to get information about the GMC V6/V8/V12 engines, as well as information about '60 to '66 GMC trucks. http://6066gmcguy.com/
  17. None that I'm aware of. Those engines were real monsters compared to the typical V engines of their time, the V6 even dwarfs the big block V8s found in most other vehicles of the time. There really wasn't any parts that swapped with other GM V engines, either. It was a clean slate design, not used in any other GM road vehicles, other than a few models of HD Chevrolet truck as an option.
  18. Unfortunately, none of the GMC 60 degree V6, V8, or V12 engines from the '60s were done in scale.
  19. Dazed and Confused
  20. Interesting. It's been a while since I've watched any Cheech and Chong movies (early '80s), but a virtually identical quote is in GI Joe:ROC. I suppose it could have also been and inside joke shout out to Cheech and Chong as well.
  21. Last I heard, IIRC, Bandit Resins was in the process of building new molds for that conversion.
  22. GI Joe: Rise Of Cobra. It's a shout out to the original Breaker character, who was always depicted chewing bubble gum.
