I have not heard any bad news yet, i am still praying for him that he can hang in there and get well! Bud Ellis took these photos earlier this summer, he is such a nice guy and we stayed friends after this show. I still have messages and emails , we have not finished our talks. When the show got going, it was INSANE! I met many people i already knew "online" , saw many familiar faces again and just plain had a BLAST! Who did i meet and re-meet? I will attempt this..... Bob Dudek, nice to hug my bro-inlaw again.....i missed you Lyle Willits, stuck my tongue out at him twice, he is a heck of a nice guy! Bud Lefevre , spit on me and farted severely in my personal space, but it's ok i like him Charlie Kroll, he is a good little boy, i don't care what anyone says Ed Fluck, great to see him and meet his new wife Julie , congrats! Gary Kulchock, nice guy , beauty of a VW ya got there Bill Geary, great guy , nice to talk to and builds amazing stuff! I want to especially thank Roger Lemay , which is his real name! Roger is getting back into building models, was a trucker for over 40 years and is really getting into this and wants to build some big rigs like he drove. He knew where all the stops were along the way and we stopped into the WORLD'S LARGEST TRUCK STOP in Iowa and i took a bunch of photos for him and my own sickness.....i love taking photos! Below is a group photo i organized, but i KNOW at least 5-10 guys didn't make it in time or didn't hear about it until it was too late.....sorry guys, next year ok! A little about Gregg Hutchins
RodBurNeR replied to Dave Mikrut's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gregg is a good boy in my book too! I can tell without a doubt, money has nothing to do with what he does for US....he loves the hobby and what people are involved. -

Elden Titus passed yesterday
RodBurNeR replied to RodBurNeR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
www.titusbrothers.com i took this photo as well as another guy at KKOA this July. George Barris, Ellis Kendrick and Elden Titus. me sitting behind wheel cars he was building, built and had hands in.... me on the left, Elden in the middle, the car is his creation called "Vibrasonic" "Vampyre" i took these here in Omaha at the world of wheels Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki maybe you didn't know his name....you probably DID hear of or see "him" in lots of kustom cars and models over the years though. each time you look at a kustom model, you will see a piece of Elden. if you heard of the Kustom Kemps of America...then you have at least brushed knowledge of Elden Titus. His brother Jerry started the KKOA and it's the BEST rod and kustom show in the world as far as i am concerned! Elden was producing what was becoming one of the best model contests at this show. you didn't get trophies and ribbons...you got $500 for top prize and awards just like the REAL cars got. I have been told this model contest will live on through Ellis Kendrick and the KC Slammers. the show MUST go on in his Honor. here are my photos from this July http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...m-kemps-of-ame/ -
If you didn't know , if you knew him then you should know about a great man who passed on yesterday. I am not the kind of person to "carry mail" , but Elden was a HUGE influence on kustomizing real cars as well as model cars. Most importantly a very nice guy and best friend to MANY. I feel it would be an insult to not mention him on here. I have updated my blog which is all i have to say at this time. RIP http://rodburner.blogspot.com/

What made you return to building?
RodBurNeR replied to Uncle Mike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have a hard time trying to remember when i started building. It was 1978-1980 somewhere in there. For a long time i thought i was 8 when i started, but i was about 5-7 years old. I would estimate i have been building for 27 years at least. During the whole time, i simply never did quit or slow down. No matter what i was doing or got into over the years, i always came home to models. I have always had models. Maybe i didn't touch a model for a few months here and there....but i never stopped, not any different than i am today when i get burnt out and take a break for a couple months or whatever......i always have them and always build every year. I go through phases. I get to a certain point where i am maxed out on a few techniques, then i start learning and trying more things....when i get better at other things, i look back at my old builds and used to throw them on ebay cuz i didn't want them near my newer builds haha! Sound stupid don't it? I should have kept them all, but i was disappointed in them. I doubt i will do that again though, I would rather have 200 built models in various conditions than 200 unbuilt kits to show for when i die. One of my biggest goals is to build as many vintage kits as i can WAHAHAHAH!!!!! -

you got it -
34 here and i know several hundred modelers online.....i would guess about 10-15 of them are under 21. running my forums i see birthdays and i would say almost all members were born before 1970 and a large chunk of them are born before 1960.
