  1. told ya on TRaK how much I like....can check my blog too
  2. and somehow you still manage to come to Omaha for the shows every year LOL I imagine it's warmer on the west coast...but the east coast gets worse weather than we do in Nebraska. the worst of our cold only lasts about a month....the rest is just "cool" weather and some slushy streets. It's not that bad in February, in fact according to Dave, it has not snowed once in the last 10 plus years at the time of our show. go figure... still cold though!
  3. haha! yeah it's a good movie, if you have not seen it.....do it! or see my O face!
  4. Am I assuming wrong that you guys have never seen Office Space?
  5. This comes up once in awhile on my forum. In fact I wonder if it came up today because of this thread? My forum however is different from others, it's not public....you can't read it unless you join it and agree to the terms. You have to be at least 13 to join and according to some kind of "invisible law" or whatever....that's the age you are old enough to join a forum without parental permission? Not sure about that really....but it's the age that it's "okay" to read a swear word? Still no idea and I don't care to be honest....I am 34 so I have nothing to worry about In any event, my forum is private to members only and I don't represent any organization or business...it's a place for guys with the same interests in modeling to be themselves and be free of censorship and all that other mumbo jumbo....just have fun, be yourself and it's that simple. This being a public forum and that it also "sort of" represents the magazine by it's readers, it should have the same respect shown here as the magazines does in it's pages. You won't see any articles by Gregg titled "the dam* way to take photos"....for example. It's about being professional when working with the public. Any one can come to this site and read what is said here without joining first. I personally don't have a problem with swear words as long as they are not used in an offensive, defamatory or anger monger manner. If it's to the positive, it's fine by me. I have to admit though, if it came to using all the hard words here on this forum....that would not be good. I find that if I can't be completely honest when I type something , then I just don't say anything. I respect the rules here and will follow them.
  6. LMAO!!!! I GOTTA USE IT! I COULD WEAR THAT THING OUT!
  7. you are really hungry eh? the choice for the date is not mine, but i am hoping to convince my buddy that we should move it into "warmer" weather....but as you can see it's the 22nd annual show and it's always been in February.... just the "model show" is under my control, but not the swapmeet. it's been fairly good so far, but my goal is to make it even better. SO DOES THIS MEAN YOU ARE COMING LYLE?
  8. First time I have heard of it, but it sounds like a good idea and something I would support if head by the right people.
  9. nice work, don't see these cleanly built everyday!
  10. very very nice paint and body! Bob's caps are great aren't they! The color sets this off and shine as well!
  11. Just a couple more months! I know it's going to take a miracle for some to make it, but I hope you can!
  12. HAHA LOVED IT!
  13. love it Paul! long live TRADITIONALS!
  14. Everything I have seen of yours is COOL! This is awesome man!
  15. I agree if it's a daily driver and yet would have black areas too from oil, grease and road grime. The most rust you would see on a daily is maybe on some bolts, minor stuff here and there. However, on a car that has been sitting in the weeds will have a fully rusted chassis. I know this because i bought a 70 impala that was sitting in the weeds, i was under it when i took it in for dual glasspacks and also was under my '67 galaxie which was a part time driver. Both had rust, but the impala had more. Also when i worked in a body shop, i was helping the owner/buddy restore a '67 galaxie. He bought 3 different cars from salvage to get parts, body panels and such. One we flipped on it's side to cut the rear end loose (was easier and car was junk). These are the only times i have seen them rusty. I would say that if you are trying to put a car back in 60s and it's say.....a 1966 model.....it's not gonna have rust. I think a 40-60 year old car would have some though....just depends on how it lived it's life. We had a customer that hauled logs and sold for a living. He had an 84 chevy pickup that we LITERALLY rebuilt many times over for him. He busted the box apart several times, we welded it, chained it a few times before putting a new/used bed on. We put several different engines , tranny's in and even had the cab off at one time. This truck had RUST all over the chassis. Now on the other side of the coin....yeah i think some guys get carried away while rusting a model car or truck. Some look like spackle with brown airbrushed on lol I have seen some with so much rust there was no seperation between the exhaust and chassis rails Let's talk about DENTS! Now i have seen some very unrealistic dents. I saw some cars with HUUUUUGGEEEE BOULDER SIZE dents in the roof that were supposed to be "drivers".......man , don't use a hammer to put a "ding" in the model I guess the candle and lighter thing is quicker.....but it's so much nicer or more realistic looking if you "gouge" areas and maybe heat it up a little too....but don't put your fist into it, a pinky would be good enough.
  16. thanks for posting my link, it's early AM and didn't think of doing that DUH
  17. no web site, just a catalog and chance of seeing him at a show vending. i wish he did have a site.
  18. most shown here are wider than the kit firestones
  19. I deleted my last post, I think maybe it was too off topic from "remember when".
  20. Cruz that is SHARP! Love that color, very nice work!
  21. I can only say that i cleaned my models when i was a kid. I would run them under the sink and dry with toilet paper and qtips LOL Now days I only wipe finger prints off with a soft clothe or blow the tiny dust particles off. I stopped displaying in the open (outside of a case) about 6 years ago think so i could avoid cleaning.
  22. $1.54 Omaha, Nebraska.....drops about a penny a day it seems.
  23. very nice build and like i said , Bob would be proud!
  24. John, i have seen some of your builds and the suggestion of the Buick with that particular example , i must say i like your style. Please toss in some Watson decals Wouldn't it be magic if cars like this got new tool? Man i would LOVE it!
  25. umm.....it's actually due to be re-issued in 2009 as well as the tijajuana taxi and some others.
