man, that thang is huge!
RodBurNeR replied to jeffb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is made in resin by Jimmy Flintstone. I have seen it, it's HUGE (long) in 1/25 scale too! http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/FlintstoneG...ntstoneAll.html -
I remember seeing some of these on TRaK. The Avanti is probably my favorite, it looks just right! All nice builds, good year too!

Nothing fancy, but I did build more this year than any before. I had fun and hope you like them. '25 T glue bomb rebuild '32 5window glue bomb rebuild '25 T glue bomb rebuild '32 5window dtrc reissue '61 Falcon Drag City Casting Resin '64 Merc with babe inspired by Lyle Willits '64 Impala '60 Desoto "wasted" an original kit '83? Mustang built in a "challenge" , it was a total loss and I had to completely rebuild, not to mention remove glue from areas that most people would toss this in the trash lol There is really a lot of work into this one, check the link for more. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...o/1983-mustang/

This is one of the reasons I like you Robert. It takes a real "human being" to swallow their pride , especially in public. I don't think it was all about you , in the reason he left.....I think he is actually still here , but is not posting. As far as your builds....I see a lot of potential in you. I think your models are great, because you are having fun with them! Don't shoot your bottles before drinking the soda....Keep building and don't tell yourself things that only hold you back.

yep that's the car! I want to get one and shave all that fringe off lol Kudos for building it up and keeping it that way, i have NEVER seen one built!

Model Car Club Web Sites
RodBurNeR replied to Daniel Peterson's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
An online club since 2004. Almost 600 members between our yahoo group and our proboards forum. We have monthly meetings through yahoo messenger, hold club auctions each year, we have due paying members, we have online builds and contests and are also having our second model show in February 2009 in Omaha, Nebraska. There is a really long list of things our club does and many people have contributed that are not even members. THANK YOU! I consider the club to be a big family, filled with all kinds of modelers willing to help others and share. Between all the sites we bump elbows on, we get a lot done. Many times, at shows we see each other and many of us have met in person on several occasions. Drastic Plastics Model Car Club Our club is also mother of Traditional Rod and Kustom in scale well actually it's MY baby, but our club's web site supports the URL. and The largest collection of Model Kit Instructions, Box Art, Decals and built box art models on the internet! all of which is FREE use to anyone who can use what is on the site. There is always more added. Our club's fotki with over 81,000 images of models, real cars, people, reference and more! http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/ DPMCC's newest addition Low Down Creations a forum for Lowrider modelers, but everything is welcome! DPMCC takes good trading very seriously, so there is also a group on yahoo for reporting good and bad traders. This is to help others avoid being taken and to stay informed of good and bad places to shop (like a heads up sort of thing) Trader Alert , formerly known as "The Model Pigs" Sister to Adrenaline Drag Racing model forums and Scale Model Restorations DPMCC is always striving to go above and beyond to expand the hobby and give more homes to modelers on the internet. DPMCC also recognizes the KC Slammers and The Model Car List as great friends as well as this forum Model Cars Magazine! Hopefully this is not overdoing it, but there is a lot to us and we are not ashamed to name those who have supported us! -
A kit is worth only what someone is willing to pay at the time it's offered for sale. I would guess to a collector, which I am NOT....they might be "worth" a couple hundred? I would only want a couple of them, because I would build them.

The new Model Cars Mag#136
RodBurNeR replied to Tom Jackson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I picked up the issue tonight at HobbyTown! It's a great issue alright! There are some nice articles, artwork and more not to mention TOLEDO NNL coverage! Gregg, thank you for the kind words in my caption, I was taken by surprise and I am very glad we got to meet! It was also a great pleasure to take the group photo, it looks great! I will always cherish my MCM collection, though be it small compared.....I have a lot of issues to find HAHA! -

I heard it's out, guess I will go sell some blood and get a copy. -

I am the guilty one. It was from my forum that this started. It was my idea. I thought it would be fun to see what happened in that amount of time. I thought it would be a way to get a few guys together , building and having fun without worries of how nice it came out. It's for fun, nothing more... The reason people say "done in 48 or 96 hours" is mostly to say "this is not my best, was built in short time" just a heads up for the viewer more than anything. I have not been able to build in the last few, one of my moderators Robert took over and he is doing good keeping them going. This is really a fun thing and very interesting to see what kind of ride can be build in that amount of time hehe! You have probably seen some of my 48 hour builds? I threw them together in short time and some people really loved them, most of all I really love them as they were stress free, fun and make my "shelf" look fuller hah!

Is R&R Vacuum Craft still in business?
RodBurNeR replied to GMP440's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
R&R still casts Steve Kohler aka Star Models is hosted on the Resin Realm Star Models is a vendor for R&R selling through mail order and at many shows Ray Parsons sells at many shows also these are facts, I am friends with Steve and live by him. -
I just want to add that I am 34 and had a lot of the old kits since growing up "with less money".....I had a lot of old models handed to me before they were crazy priced like today.....say in 1986ish? I am only adding this because some of us under age 50 are fully aware of the steel axled, no engine having beauties! I LOVE THEM AND PREFER THEM! MORE FUN ,LESS WORK!
-
nice build! i really like the paint job, green on green yeah!
-
pretty cool! I love the '60s ponchos, all years and is nice to see one!
-
ok gotcha, yeah it would be nice!
-
Bill, they released the bubbletop several times in the last few years. I built one of the last issues that came in a "checker board" box from walmart. If you want to see it, you can PM me if you like.
-
you did a real nice job! I am particularly a fan of building the old stuff! I would like to get a '62 hardtop like this also. I have not been looking hard enough though.
